Finally, the world can rest in peace. Because Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have fulfilled the prophecy and released a gin. It wasn’t enough for them to release a line of Gin & Juice canned cocktails. The two “Gin & Juice” rappers needed to close the circle by dropping their first ever bottled gin. Wait, does that mean they need to release a standalone juice now? The quest continues!
Anyway, Still G.I.N. by Dre and Snoop is now available with an MSRP of $39.99—about the same price as a bottle of Hendricks gin or Tanqueray No. Ten gin. Certainly not cheap, but also not the most expensive gin at the liquor store. And it looks the part. It comes in a very elegant squat, dark glass bottle with a heavy stopper. But is it any good? I tasted it to find out.
Pros: Having tasted Dre and Snoop’s canned Gin & Juice cocktails, I was a bit skeptical of the duo’s boozy knowhow. But I was immediately convinced otherwise. This is really good gin. It’s bright and very citrusy—it smells like you’re standing in an orange grove. And there are tons of sweet tangerine notes when you sip it, too. It goes very light on the juniper, so it doesn’t have that classic London Dry soapy flavor, which is a plus for many. It’s really easy to drink straight. All you need is some ice and maybe an orange twist. But it’d also be great in a Negroni or a big goblet of Gin & Tonic with an orange slice and some juniper berries. It’d also be good in a very dry Martini—lemon twist, no olive.
Cons: If you really like London Dry gin and you crave those herbaceous juniper notes, then Snoop Dogg’s gin is not for you. It is also not for those of you who only drink your Martinis dirty. This new gin is not meant to be in the same room as olive brine.
Verdict: If you’re new to gin or you love gins that go light on the juniper (like Nolet’s) then this new gin from Snoop and Dr. Dre is for you. If you are a hardline Tanqueray or Sipsmith fan, then feel free to skip it.

What cocktail are you making first with Snoop’s gin?
Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients.
Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it.
What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now).
Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test!
Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
