Mother’s Day is this weekend (yes, this weekend, put it in your calendar) and that means one thing: brunch! I don’t know why but we have all come to accept that there’s nothing moms love more than brunch. As a mom myself, I don’t actually have time to do brunch anymore (children under 10 don’t seem to understand the concept of “sleeping in” or “hollandaise”), but I certainly did enjoy some brunches back in my youth—boozy brunches, specifically.
If you want to give the mom in your life a taste of boozy brunches past, we’ve rounded up the best Bloody Mary mix for Bloodies, orange juice and cheap sparkling wine for Mimosas. But if you’re feeling lazy—or you simply stumbled onto this page because you want easy brunch drinks and couldn’t give a damn about mothers—we’ve also pulled together the best brunch drinks that come in cans. All you have to do is open and sip.

Best Canned “Paloma”
- Absolut Grapefruit Paloma
-
Palomas are made with tequila or mezcal—not vodka. But that doesn’t mean this canned Paloma made with vodka isn’t tasty as heck. It doesn’t taste like a Paloma made with fresh grapefruit juice, instead this tastes like a Paloma made with grapefruit soda—like Squirt or San Pellegrino Pomelo (if you want to get fancy). It’s a real crowd-pleaser of a canned brunch cocktail.

Best Canned Greyhound
- Salt Point Greyhound
-
I don’t typically order Greyhounds at a bar or even make them at home, but I buy this canned cocktail frequently. It’s super bright and zesty and fresh—downright gulpable. It’s made with actual vodka, grapefruit, and lime, all fizzed up with seltzer. Watch out, though, it packs a punch. It’s 10% ABV and there are technically two servings in a can (but good luck stopping at half a can).

Best Canned Bloody Mary
- Cutwater Spicy Bloody Mary
-
While I pine for the Cutwater’s Mild Bloody Mary to make its return, the spicy version is still the best canned Bloody Mary available. It’s super savory with lots of umami flavor and a serious kick of spice. It’s made with actual vodka (it’s actually made with Cutwater’s own vodka) and it comes in at 10% ABV. All that’s missing is a celery stick.

Best Spiked Tea
- Arnold Palmer Spiked Original Half Iced Tea & Half Lemonade
-
This spiked Arnold Palmer (a drink I’ve heard referred to as a John Daly) currently sits in the number one spot of our hard tea ranking. It’s not carbonated. It tastes like an Arizona Arnold Palmer. And it’s super refreshing. At 5% ABV, this is a great morning drink that won’t leave you totally smashed.

Best Canned Mimosa
- Summer Club Pogmosa
-
This 6.4% ABV canned wine spritzer is a new find—and I’m really excited about it. It truly tastes like POG (passion fruit, orange, guava juice). It’s as tropical as an Oahu vacation and goes heavy on the guava, which gives it a unique flavor that can’t be confused with just any old punch. It’s spritzy and not too sweet, so it won’t overpower your Benedict. It’s a perfect brunch drink in a can.

Best Canned Espresso Martini
- Tip Top Espresso Martini
-
This little can scored the top points in our canned Espresso Martini ranking. If you chilled it and poured it into a glass, I doubt anyone would know it was a premade drink. They’d probably think you were some sort of mixology savant—get ready to be in charge of cocktails from here on out. It tastes like fresh espresso with just the right amount of sweetness to cut the bitterness of the espresso and the kick of the vodka. The ideal Espresso Martini.

About the Author
Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients.
Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it.
What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now).
Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test!
Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
