The Best Cheese Advent Calendar to Buy for Christmas 2025

Happy Cheesemas, to all who celebrate. While some folks choose to countdown the days to December 25th with little chocolates or toys, the real ones know that the only way to celebrate is with cheese. If you’re looking for the best cheese advent calendar to buy this year, we have a few Sporked approved recommendations for all cheese tastes and cheese budgets.

We opened every door in one of Aldi’s cheese advent calendars a couple of years ago and while that iteration was a real gouda lover’s dream, the 2025 Aldi cheese calendar looks to be a lot more cheddar-friendly. I won’t spoil the surprises, but suffice it to say you’ll get 24 tasters of a range of cheeses for under $20. Pair it with the Aldi wine calendar and you’ve got yourself a December to remember.

Twelve Days of Tillamook ($149)

We’re big fans of Tillamook cheese. Their shredded cheeses in particular have made a splash in our rankings. But in this cheese advent calendar you’ll get six different types of (not shredded) cheddar and six other “surprises.” Each cheese advent calendar comes with two boxes—one full of cheese that goes in the fridge, and the other filled with “surprises” that goes on the counter. If you’re not familiar, Murray’s Cheese Shop is the destination for fromage-ophiles in New York City. With their cheese advent calendar, you get over 2.5lbs of cheese, jams, and crackers. And, even though it’s called the 12 Days of Murray’s, you actually get 14 items: nine cheese, four jams, and crackers. B-b-b-bonus snacks!

Want to spend your money on a small business? This Minnesota-based creamery ships their cheese calendars anywhere in the U.S. Each 6lb box comes with 12 2oz cheeses and pairings. There are no spoilers on the website, but the company makes award-winning cheeses like clothbound cheddar, whiskey-washed muenster, and one cheese simply called The Barbarian.

Williams Sonoma 12 Days of Cheese Advent Calendar Gift Crate ($129.95)

Okay, this one’s cheating a bit. Williams Sononma’s cheese advent calendar is actually a crate filled with 12 cheeses from Beehive Cheese (makers of some of the best cheese curds you can get outside of the Midwest). Each crate comes with 12 4oz samples of a variety of cheeses, including Big John’s Cajun Cheese, Teahive Cheese, and Queen Bee Porcini Cheese. If you want to keep each day a surprise, just close your eyes and reach into the fridge. Either way, you’re getting 12 days of cheese and that’s a win.
