At this year’s NACS Expo, Mountain Dew confirmed an upcoming release that Sporked’s own Griffin Parker had been speculating about for a few months: Mountain Dew Dirty Dew! The brand announced that both Mountain Dew Dirty Dew and Mountain Dew Dirty Dew Zero Sugar would be dropping as permanent additions to the lineup in spring of 2026 in both cans and bottles.
For the uninitiated, Dirty Dew is being described as a cream soda flavor of Mountain Dew. I had an opportunity to sample this new Mountain Dew flavor at NACS (and I was hacked by the Mountain Dude on Twitter as I was sampling) and another chance to try the cans at home, as Pepsi was kind enough to ship me samples. And I have thoughts!
New Mountain Dew Flavor!
Mountain Dew Dirty Dew
Pros: This stands out from original Mountain Dew much more than you might expect. Firstly, unlike the OG Mountain Dew, Dirty Mountain Dew does not contain orange juice concentrate (and as we talked about previously, I prefer my Dew without it). Additionally, Dirty Mountain Dew is ditching the dyes—no artificial colors here, which is ALWAYS a huge win in my book! As for the flavor itself, I was very pleased. I expected a blend of OG Mountain Dew with a good cream soda and an extra hint of creaminess—and that’s almost exactly what Dirty Mountain Dew brings to the table. Even if you aren’t a fan of classic Mountain Dew, this is worth giving a look.
Cons: It’s not the most inventive flavor in the world (I continue to wait patiently for a Tiger’s Blood-flavored Baja Blast spinoff), but that doesn’t mean it is not a good flavor. It very much is.

New Mountain Dew Zero Sugar Flavor!
Mountain Dew Dirty DewZero Sugar
Pros: I mentioned this in my review of the newly reformulated Cabo Citrus and feel it is still the case here: Pepsi seems to be stepping up their game when it comes to zero sugar sodas. I almost enjoy Dirty Mountain Dew Zero Sugar as much as I do the full sugar—and that’s coming from someone who traditionally only has a zero sugar product if it’s an energy drink. Even without the real sugar, Dirty Mountain Dew Zero Sugar manages to hit the same notes as its full sugar counterpart!
Cons: I would be remiss if I didn’t mention for my good friend SnachWithZach that this contains sucralose. While I personally do not particularly notice it impacting the flavor, many people do and will be very disappointed by this fact. Other than that, Dirty Mountain Dew Zero Sugar is a very accurate reformulation of its sugar counterpart!
