You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach America’s #1 Favorite Food Brand a new recipe. Nothing Bundt Cakes has a new swirled yellow-and-chocolate cake filled with chocolate-coated wafer orbs, topped with the brand’s first ever chocolate frosting. N.B.C. was nice enough to prepare a few early samples of this “New-Fashioned Marble” cake for us, but you can get this new Bundtlet flavor now through January 25th. (And check back at the beginning of February for our review of N.B.C.’s upcoming Valentine’s Day flavor.)

New Nothing Bundt Cake!

Nothing Bundt Cakes’ New-Fashioned Marble Cake with Chocolate Frosting

Pros: Of course, the cake is good; even after multiple days on the “to be reviewed” shelf of my fridge, these bundt cakes stay moist and fresh. The chocolate-covered wafers inside and atop the cake are an understated textural addition, giving a crunch factor that’s quite rare for Nothing Bundt Cakes. And to be clear, this isn’t just chocolate frosting; this is a rich chocolate ganache cream cheese frosting that I absolutely loved. I hope we see this recipe return on many more cakes in the future.

Cons: This is nitpicky, but my cake was far yellow-er than the cakes seen in the ads. I like my marble cakes evenly split, and I got something closer to 75-25.

Wait, is Nothing Bundt Cakes actually that popular?

According to Technomic and Nation’s Restaurant News, Nothing Bundt Cakes was just voted America’s favorite food brand for the second year in a row. To celebrate, N.B.C. is pulling a Willy Wonka and letting a few members of the public tour their Dallas headquarters—including the mysterious Bundt Lab. Three lucky sweepstakes winners will get flown out to Dallas for a day of flavor development and cake tasting with Nothing Bundt Cakes‘ head bakers and CEO. Enter now through February 9th for your chance to go behind-the-scenes at one of our favorite desserteries.

While three people will get to tour Nothing Bundt Cakes’ headquarters, the brand is gifting the rest of us a rare BOGO promotion. From February 16th through the 22nd, use the coupon code BOGOFEB26 online or in-store to get two Bundtlets for the price of one! What a perfect late-Valentine’s gift.
