Christmás has come early this year! At least, it has for Taco Bell fans. This week, the chain brought back Live Más Live, its cross between a concert and an Apple Event, during which it showcases all of the new items that it’s going to be bringing to its stores in the coming weeks and months. It’s always a pretty wild night, and this year’s featured appearances from the likes of Benson Boone and Doja Cat, amongst many others. It’s also streaming exclusively on Peacock. How many fast food chains can say that they do that, huh?

We’ll be bringing you much, much news of what Live Más Live told us Taco Bell has in store, but for now, amongst the more than twenty items that it said it was dropping, it was the empanadas that caught our eye. Taco Bell’s bringing out three of them – and two of them are sweet. Let’s go.
Empanadas For Everyone!
Taco Bell’s new empanadas are:
- Mexican Pizza Empanadas: This new savory item takes Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza and turns it on its head – or, we guess, inside out. Each order gives you either three or six crispy empanadas filled with seasoned beef, a three-cheese blend, and a punchy sauce. Oh, and you get a serving of Mexican Pizza sauce as an accompaniment.
- Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas: Let’s get sweet. This new dessert option comes in dual empanada form, with one chocolate fudge and one caramel empanada per order. Perfect for when you don’t know what you want.
- Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada: This highly cool new item from Taco Bell sees it collaborate with Christina Tosi and her iconic bakery to make a birthday cake batter empanada, with the filling stuffed in a crispy shell, and the whole thing topped with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles.
Okay, I Want Them Now. Can I Have Them Now?
Not quite – you can have one of them now. Taco Bell revealed that its Chocolate Fudge & Caramel Empanadas are the first of its Live Más Live items to be rolled out nationwide, and they should be available in your local store imminently. For the other two, you might have to wait a little longer, but look: The restaurant’s made them official now, so there’s no turning back.
What Else Is Coming to Its Restaurants?
A lot, guys. A lot. Amongst the new menu items that Taco Bell announced are its Cheesy G Sliders (a flatbread-taco combo with a ton of cheese in them), Dorito-dusted chicken nuggets, and a Strawberry & Cream Mexican Pizza Bite that sounds very, verrrrry nice. Beyond all this, it’s still testing other items like its shredded beef chalupas, so this might not even be the end of it. It’s gonna be a busy year for the chain, and we’ll be covering it every step of the way.
