If you can’t take the heat, stay out of your local Taco Bell’s kitchen. I don’t know why you would be skulking around in there anyway, you weirdo, but you’ve been warned. Taco Bell just unveiled 20 new menu items at their Live Más LIVE event yesterday… and some of them should come with a “don’t touch your eyes” warning. Three of the new Taco Bell items now carry the official Flamin’ Hot stamp. Let’s talk about ‘em.

Flamin’ Hot Nacho Fries
As a proud Nacho Fries apologist, I’m thrilled to report that Nacho Fries are officially becoming a permanent menu item at Taco Bell (hooray!!), according to the brand’s announcement at Live Más LIVE. And these Flamin’ Hot Nacho Fries are a new flavor in the works. Instead of seasoning the fries themselves, Taco Bell mixed the Flamin’ Hot dust into the cheese, which I actually think is pretty smart. You get to control how spicy each bite is. Plus, no spicy orange dust on your fingers. A win-win.
Flamin’ Hot Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets
Taco Bell is bringing back their Crispy Chicken (basically, chicken nuggets coated in fried tortilla chip breading) with a new series of “dusted nuggets.” Flamin’ Hot is one of the new flavors, and contrary to the name, it’s advertised as carrying a “slow-building heat.” I’m excited to see Crispy Chicken back on the menu, but I am clocking that most of these new Flamin’ Hot additions are stereotypical American fast food (chicken nuggets and fries), not Tex-Mex classics. That’s probably for the best, though.
Flamin’ Hot Mini Taco Salad
This new Taco Bell salad tickles me a bit. It features beef, Fritos Flamin’ Hot corn chips, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and refried beans… in a tortilla bowl rimmed with Flamin’ Hot seasoning. Very fancy, Taco Bell. Very fancy.
When are these new Taco Bell Items available?
I wish I had better information for you, but it looks like official release dates aren’t out yet. They’re supposed to roll out sometime later this year, according to Taco Bell’s Live Más preview.
By the way, if Flamin’ Hot isn’t your jam, don’t worry—there’s plenty of other new stuff at Taco Bell to get excited about. They’ve been busy over there. We’ve already reported on the new zero-sugar Mountain Dew Baja Black Midnight, a new Mountain Dew pie, and three new empanadas coming to Taco Bell over the next year.
