Earlier this month, I made my annual pilgrimage to KC Soda Co. in Kansas City. On any given day, this little slice of heaven offers hundreds of different, often rare drinks from across the world, many of which I’ve never seen anywhere else. Here’s a taste of what I came home with on this year’s trip.

Maple Pepsi Zero Sugar from Canada
This golden-canned, uber-Canadian Pepsi is all the fun of maple with no sugar to speak of. We covered the release of this one in detail back in January, so I was glad to find a can without having to pay any drastic shipping/import fees; stay tuned for a full review coming soon to Sporked!
Teem Lime: Citrus Refresher
You know how Starry replaced Sierra Mist? Well, Starry is just the latest in a long line of PepsiCo’s attempts to capture some of Sprite’s market share. The first attempt, Teem, hit shelves all the way back in 1959. While Teem was replaced a few decades later, Orca Beverage has revived the original branding (if not the exact recipe) for this caffeinated, cane-sugar lime soda.
Red Bull: ‘Açaí’ Purple Edition from Germany
While most American Red Bull releases are multi-flavor, other countries are happy to release single-fruit flavors. I recently picked up a can of Red Bull Japan’s Strawberry Spring Edition at World Market, and now I’ve got a can of the just-Açaí “Red Bull Purple Edition” from Germany (or Switzerland, the flavor is found in both regions).
Savannah Bananas’ Split: Banana Cream Soda
The internet’s favorite baseball team has partnered with fellow Georgian company New Creation Soda Works on a soda as unique as the Banana Ball rulebook. Per the website, “this banana cream soda has a creamy caramel flavor with a banana bread finish.” With a description like that (and a girlfriend who shows me Banana Ball clips quite regularly), I had to pick up a can.
Fanta Banana Chocolate Soda from Hong Kong
When I reached out to the owner of KC Soda Co. to find out what particularly new and rare drinks he’d gotten in ahead of my visit, this was the first drink he sent in response. Needless to say, he understood the assignment: Banana Chocolate Fanta? You know I had to snag a bottle of this state fair treat(!?)-inspired soda.
