It may have been two decades since the goon squad of Miley, Lily, and Oliver first graced our TV screens (because we sure as heck weren’t streaming back in 2006) but Hannah Montana still has our hearts. So, when Disney dropped a 20th anniversary special, you can bet your bottom dollar that we ate it up. Something we didn’t eat up? Miley’s “gnarly” Panda Express order from her Hannah Montana filming days.

The 20th anniversary special is described as “a love letter to fans of the show,” and is filled with heart, memory, special musical performances, exclusive interviews, surprise guests, and more. It was a gift of a time capsule, an incredible opportunity to celebrate our childhoods, and an ode to the show that shaped so many of us, so obviously we’re clinging to the tidbit that Miley Cyrus topped her Panda Express white rice with Diet Coke instead of soy sauce.
Let me repeat that: Miley Cyrus poured Diet Coke on her rice. Intentionally. Regularly. Publicly. What? She also revealed that she had a crush on Zac Efron and Mitchell Musso, but yeah, big deal, so did everyone else. Let’s go back to that Coke on rice thing.
Miley revealed that she and co-star Emily Osment would often go to Panda Express after work, and that “[she] did something really gnarly.” She went on to admit that “[her] favorite thing to get at Panda Express was the white rice,” and that she would “pour Diet Coke on top, instead of soy sauce. It’s a whole thing.”
Miley, why? You know they have orange chicken there, right? You don’t have to do this. Her defense was that “[she is] from the South in a way that it’s really hard to describe.” Southerners, please chime in. Do you pour Sprite over your pasta? Do you dip your fries in Dr Pepper? Where does it end?
