Cult-Favorite Bubs Swish Candy Is Landing on Walmart Shelves

I refuse to believe that anybody can resist the allure of international candy. Honestly, one of the best parts of any holiday is slipping into a grocery store and assessing all of the products and flavors that other countries call their own. So, obviously, whenever we hear about international candy flavors that are worth discussing (like the Berry Whip Snickers that make up just one of the chocolate bar’s international options), we bring word to you, dear readers.

On this occasion, though, we’re also bringing news that you can bring one of them home. Okay, we’re gonna stop saying “bringing” and get to the point: Walmart is now stocking Bubs Sour & Sweet Mix, a flavor from the beloved Swedish candy brand, and we’re excited.

Bubs Sour & Sweet Mix

This confection selection from Bubs, and its availability at Walmart, was announced on Instagram by the Swedish brand, and is the latest move in its clear ambitions to insert itself more strongly into the American candy market. Bubs (alongside other Swedish candies) has been pretty strident about increasing its profile in the US in the last year or so, finally becoming way more widely available in 2025. Before that, it built significant buzz in America through socials, even though the brand’s been making candy in Sweden for a good couple of decades now.

In each bag of Bubs Sour & Sweet Mix, you get a selection of Bubs candies, including Sour Tutti Frutti Diamonds, Sour Lemon Raspberry Skulls, Sour Strawberry Vanilla Diamonds, and Sweet Banana Toffee Ovals. The idea, of course, is that every handful has a nice balance of different flavors, and that there’s enough variety to keep everyone in the family happy. Mega-fans of Bubs, who have loved the Swedish-made versions of its candy for a while, might be slightly disappointed: Some Redditors have pointed out that the US version of Bubs candy isn’t really that close to the one made in its native country. However, if you’ve never had the latter, you’ll probably still like the former.

It’s Time for Lördagsgodis

While we can’t be certain that this was the intention, buying a bag of Bubs’ Sour & Sweet Mix is about as close to taking part in lördagsgodis as you can get in the US. This is the very Swedish concept of buying bags of loose sweets on Saturday, with younger Swedes using their allowance to do so. Although this tradition is obviously pretty fun for the kiddos, it also has a secondary function of helping to teach them about budgeting. We have to be honest, learning financial literacy via candy is something we can really get on board with.
