What exactly is going on with Taco Bell in 2026? Is everything okay over there at R&D? Because it feels like the food scientists are working over time. Perhaps they’re just trying to overcompensate for…everything else going on in the world. I guess I shouldn’t complain or even question Taco Bell’s motives because we keep getting new, wonderful developments and menu items. Here are a bunch of new items that are rumored to be dropping on Taco Bell menus soon according to the fast food sleuths over at @snackwire

Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza

We reported on this new Taco menu item when it was first announced during the Live Mas press event. You get a crispy tortilla topped with slow-roasted chicken and black beans layered with another tortilla and topped with green chile sauce, shredded cheese, cabbage, and pico de gallo.

Flamin’ Hot Nacho Fries

One of multiple new Flamin’ Hot items, these Flamin’ Hot Nacho Fries are standard Nacho Fries served with Flamin’ Hot nacho cheese.

Edible Fire Queso Sauce Packet

Yes, Taco Bell’s edible sauce packet wasn’t a joke, it seems. As far as I can tell, it’s like a pizza roll but it’s filled with spicy queso.

Flamin’ Hot Mini Taco Salad

This appetizer-friendly taco salad consists of a mini tortilla bowl rimmed with Flamin’ Hot seasoning, filled with ground beef, Fritos Flamin’ Hot corn chips, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and refried beans.

Diablo Dusted, Doritos Cool Ranch Dusted, and Flamin’ Hot Chicken Nuggets

That’s right, all three new chicken nuggets will be dropping on Taco Bell menus. I have dibs on reviewing these.

Cheesy G Sliders

Essentially mini Cheesy Gordita Crunches, you get two flatbreads wrapped around taco shells, filled with three cheeses, lettuce, pico de gallo, and chipotle sauce. You can get them with steak or roasted chicken.

Mexican Pizza Empanadas

One of three new empanadas in the works, these are stuffed with seasoned beef and a three-cheese blend, and they’re served with Mexican Pizza Sauce for dipping.

Queso Cracked Cantina Bowl

Taco Bell isn’t known for bowls, but this new item might change that. You get a bowlful of seasoned rice, roasted chicken, black beans, lettuce, purple cabbage, sour cream, pico de gallo, cotija dip, and a sprinkling of chile lime seasoning, topped with a crispy cheddar cheese disc.

Strawberry & Cream Mexican Pizza Bite

That’s right, a sweet Mexican Pizza! This ‘lil guy is topped with cheesecake “filling,” strawberries, cinnamon, sugar, and white chocolate shavings.

Baja Midnight Pie

Apparently Baja Blast Pie did so well that Taco Bell has decided to release another version. It’s a step too far for me, personally, but you do you, Taco Bell!

Crème Brûlée Crunchwrap Slider

This new dessert Crunchwrap sounds fancy as hell

Birthday Cake Empanada

Made in collaboration with Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi, this birthday cake batter-filled empanada is topped with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles.

Cold Brew with Purple Horchata Cold Foam

Cold brew topped with purple cold foam that’s spiced with cinnamon and vanilla.

Salt & Straw Tacolate Chiller

Made in collaboration with Salt & Straw ice creamery, which is known for its wild flavors, this Chiller is essentially a drinkable Choco Taco.

Strawberry Horchata Refresca

It’s horchata with a hit of strawberry syrup, topped with freeze-dried strawberry bits.

About the Author

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
