I love this time of year. “Why’s that, Jay?” I hear you cry. “Is it because the weather’s getting warmer, and the days are getting longer?” Well, yes, of course – but it’s also because this is also the time of year that food companies start to go hard on their frozen delights. In the last week or two, we’ve seen ice cream and frozen dessert products cropping up pretty much everywhere, from Trader Joe’s new Cookie Dough Ice Cream Bites to Blue Bell’s returning Tin Roof ice cream flavor. Now, we’re getting yet another, in the form of Dr Pepper Freeze Pops, which are now available at Dollar General.

Oh, and the best part? They won’t break the bank. Here’s what you need to know about these new freeze pops.
Dr Pepper Freeze Pops: Like Soda, But Freeze-ier
Dr Pepper Freeze Pops arrived without a lot of fanfare, but as of a couple of days back, people have started spotting them in the freezer aisle at Dollar General. These freeze pops come in bags of 18, and they’re vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, as well as being free of major allergens. We should say that what they’re not free of is artificial flavors and a bunch of sugar, so bear that in mind if you’re going to pick ‘em up.
Customers who have found these freeze pops at Dollar General have said that they’re priced at $1.25 for 18 pops, although prices may vary from store to store. We doubt they’ll be much more than that, though – and while they’re not the biggest pops in the world, that still works out at like $0.07 per serving. Not bad.
Are They Any Good, Though?
Apparently, they are! Over on Reddit, a customer who had bought them stated that the pops “are incredibly good! Super addicting.” They went on to say that the pops actually genuinely taste like Dr Pepper, although they don’t have a lot of fizz to them. This isn’t the first time that Dr Pepper has come in frozen form (Blue Bell Dr Pepper has been floating around for a while now, although sadly it’s now being discontinued for good), so the brand has had plenty of time to get its sub-zero flavors right. Looks like it’s carried it over to these pops well.
If you’re interested, we wouldn’t sleep on these pops: We don’t know how long they’ll be around for, and given their quiet release, we wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t a huge number of them going around. But they look like they’re definitely worth your time, and they’re not expensive, so why not, eh? Oh, and if you want to try something totally different in the freeze pop world, we’re about to see the release of Hard Popsicle drinks, toward the end of this month. It’s a great time to be a Popsicle lover.
