Coors has a long, storied history of making drinking beer look really, really fun. Remember the commercials with the rambunctious dudes clamoring over mountain tops, tossing a frisbee to a talented dog, and playing volleyball in dangerously close proximity to a ski lift? Well, now you don’t even have to consume alcohol to “tap the Rockies” with the best of them.

Coors 0.0% is launching in May

Unless you’re big on NAs, it may have escaped your attention that Coors has never made a non-alcoholic beer—until now. The Colorado-coded beer brand is launching Coors 0.0%, a 0 ABV beer that purports to taste just as refreshing as the Coors beers in your stepdad Rick’s garage fridge. (I can’t totally explain why Coors is stepdad beer; it just is.)

Despite the brand’s association with the Mountain region, their new NA is launching in “select markets” in the Northeast next month, and then going nationwide in 2027. If you live on the West Coast or somewhere in Middle America, it sounds like you’ll have to keep swigging those Heineken 0.0s until then.

What else is Coors up to these days?

Oh, glad you asked. Well, they’ve enlisted Andres Cantor, the soccer announcer known for prolonging the word “GOOOOOOOAL” when a player scores, for an activation that involves something they’re calling the Coooors Call. They’re encouraging fans to submit their own Coooors Calls for a chance to win beer money and other prizes.

Honestly, we’re a little sketchy on the details right now (believe me, I read the release more than once), but a website is launching on April 30 that should make the rules a little clearer.

Gwynedd Stuart

Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks. Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction. Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home. Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
