I absolutely love food data. There, I said it! Call me a nerd, but I think there’s something fascinating about seeing how foods and food brands correspond to place and demography. And here at Sporked, we like to get into all that data, which is, of course, a joy for me. Hence, in the last couple of months, we’ve looked at which states like which hot sauce, where certain olive oils are most popular, and which state has the best food (before you come for me, that’s according to a survey, not just my opinion!). We can’t get enough.

Now, though, the one that we’ve all been waiting for has come along: What’s your state’s favorite cereal? Thanks to a map published by CSP Global, we have the answers – and some of them are pretty unexpected.
Froot Loops, You’re Taking The Gold!
CSP Global’s map was based on Google Trends data taken from every US state and Washington DC between January 2025 and January 2026. By using this data, it was able to establish not only the most popular cereal in each state, but also broader geographical trends towards certain brands.
Coming out on top for the most popular cereal overall is Froot Loops, which is the most-searched for option in 13 states. Froot Loops are especially popular in Southern states, including Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas (although it also placed highest in Oregon). Rice Krispies and Cheerios were the most searched-for choices in five states each, while Trix was the most popular in four states.
On a wider geographical level, Rice Krispies were particularly popular in the Midwest during this period (and we presume that hasn’t changed much since): Idaho, Montana, and Utah all favor the snap, crackle, and pop. In the Northeast, it’s all about Cheerios, while the West sees an inclination toward Honey Bunches of Oats.
Some States, Though, Did Their Own Thing…
The data threw up some interesting searching patterns in certain areas, highlighting regional tendencies that weren’t reflected as broadly elsewhere in the country. In Maine, for example, the most searched-for cereal was Raisin Bran, while in Wyoming, it was Frosted Mini Wheats. Minnesota was the only state where Wheaties came out on top, while Mississippi was the sole state flying the flag for Apple Jacks. In Hawai’i, Cocoa Puffs were the most-searched-for option, standing alone out of all the states.
Check out CSP Global’s map for the full list of states and their respective favorite cereals. Will you be buying them at the most popular grocery stores in your state, though? Will you be enjoying them the morning before you go for one of the most popular frozen pizza brands? We told you we love this stuff, guys.
