Get ready to eat a lot of star-shaped snacks!

America is about to hit it’s 250th anniversary—its “semiquincentennial”—which definitely does not roll off the tongue as easily as it’s “bicentennial.”

And like that bicentennial, which was a staggering 50 years ago, a ton of products and brands are changing their products to show their support for the U.S. (or possibly to get a bit of that sweet, patriotic sales money.) And sure, most of them are just changes to packaging, or making them shaped like flags or stars, but I gotta admit that I’ll be picking up a few for my Fourth of July parties.

Here are some of our favorite new “semiquincentennial” (sounds weird, right?) products hitting store shelves now.

Cheez-It Original Flags & Stars

To clarify, the “original” in the name refers to the original Cheez-It flavor, not the original American Flags. Although, personally I wouldn’t mind eating some crackers stamped with the Don’t Tread On Me flag some time. But that’s probably just me.

Velveeta Shapes & Cheese

It’s the Velveeta cheese and pasta you’ve expected, but now served in the shapes of stars or the USA itself. Although, I have to point out that due to the size of the pasta, the U.S. only has 14 states. Although, Texas is still fairly accurate, and if there’s one state you don’t mess with—even in pasta form—I guess that’s it.

Tyson Chicken Nuggets

These star-shaped nuggets come in either red or blue bags. I guess white would’ve looked a little plain.. even if would be covered in ribbons or fireworks, like their other bags.

Ore-Ida Star Tater Tots

If you want a side-dish to go with your star-shaped chicken nuggets, this has to be your best choice. And if you want to add in a star-shaped dessert, you might want to try…

Amos Peelerz Stars

If you haven’t tried Amos Peelerz, it’s a type of “peelable” gummy candy where you can remove the outer gummy layer to expose a chewy fruit-flavored center, with this version offering a mix of lemon, blueberry, and strawberry flavors. You can find these at a range of different retailers, including Target, Kohl’s and Five Below.
