I know what you’re thinking: I have this all figured out!

We’ve all heard “the hack” to getting fresh fries at McDonald’s: You ask for them without salt. I will concede that it works. It works, but word is that it’s an utter pain in the butt for McDonald’s employees! They have to go through the trouble of putting the fries straight into the sleeve. Risking life and limb against hot oil just for you to turn around and ask for a salt packet to go on your “no salt” fries.

The secret is…just being nice!

Really, that’s it. According to Reddit, just being a nice person is the key. Politely ask for your fries to come out fresh or use “cook to order,” if you want to use the industry lingo. If they have any fries coming out soon they’ll grab yours from that batch. If not, you may have to wait a few minutes. A small ask considering you’ll be making a new friend in the process.
