KFC Prickly Pear Lemonade and New Sauces Launch Nationwide

Like most of the big fast food chains out there, KFC has been thinking a lot about its drinks recently. The difference between this restaurant and a lot of the others, though, is that it usually keeps them in one place. KFC’s Saucy concept, which is aimed at a younger consumer base, is where it focuses on its drinks and sauces, and just last month, it was busy adding four new beverages to its line-up. Its main stores, meanwhile, have had a bit more of a muted time on the drinks front (unless you count its Pickle Pepsi, which was released in the UK).

KFC has just added a new drink to its main lineup, though, and to be honest, it looks pretty cool. Oh, and it’s got some new sauces, too. Let’s dive in.

First, The Dips…

Okay, let’s start there. Over on @snackwire, the news has been dropped that KFC is launching two new dips on its menu: A Honey Chili Crisp and a Jalapeño Ranch. Both of these are bang on-trend, with creamy, hot dips like its jalapeño ranch all the rage at the moment, and the combo of sweet and spicy (or swicy) also cropping up everywhere.

These new dips are arriving alongside KFC’s new $10 Bucket of the Day Deals, which allow you to get your pick of nuggets, tenders, or good old drums and thighs, depending on what day of the week it is. These buckets also come with sauces, and if these new ones aren’t available in the deal for whatever reason, we’ll scream.

…And Then, The Drink

Now, let’s talk about this new beverage – because it’s pretty cool. KFC is debuting a Prickly Pear Lemonade, which it says in a statement to Parade (via Yahoo) is a “vibrant, refreshing sip that perfectly complements your fried chicken favorites.” This new Prickly Pear Lemonade comes in a vibrant pink shade, and we expect that it’ll have all of the tropical, almost bubblegum-y flavors that prickly pear has. Don’t let us down on this one, KFC.

Like its dips, the restaurant’s new lemonade feels very up to the minute. Tropical flavors in drinks are all over the place right now, with dragonfruit in particular cropping up again and again. So, we’re not too surprised that it’s brought this flavor profile to its main store, instead of just keeping it at its Saucy concept. Gen Z isn’t the only group that can have fun with drinks!

When Are These New Items Available?

KFC’s new sauces and drinks will be dropping on May 4 and rolling out from then across its stores. Its Bucket of the Day deals, meanwhile, are available now – although bear in mind that you can only get them from Monday through Friday.
