Shake Shack Is Giving Away Free Burgers All Month Long

It really should come as no surprise that we love it when a restaurant gives away free food. I mean, don’t you? Free anything is nice, but free food is nicer. And as it turns out, it’s been a pretty busy period for chain joints as they scramble to offer the best free giveaways to their customers. This Wednesday, Firehouse Subs is giving away free subs to people who are graced with a certain name, and a couple of weeks back, Shake Shack – which is, of course, the subject of this article – began giving out free chicken sandwiches (and that’s ongoing, guys).

Now, it’s decided that chicken isn’t enough – it’s gonna start giving out free burgers too, for the whole of May. Here’s what’s on offer, and how to get them.

Free Burgers for Everyone! (If You Spend Some Money Beforehand)

Shake Shack’s new free burger offer is running in honor of National Burger Month, which, if you didn’t know, is the merry old month of May. For the whole month, if you spend $10 or more at one of its stores, online, or in its app, you can get a free burger with your order, provided that you use the code FREEBURGER to redeem it. We love a code that’s totally logical and to the point.

As for the burgers, you can get…

• May 1 – 10: Place an order, use your code, and get a free ShackBurger, Shake Shack’s flagship sandwich.
• May 11 – 17: The restaurant’s giving away its SmokeShack this week, which comes with bacon and chopped cherry peppers, as well as ShackSauce.
• May 18 – 24: It’s a free Bacon Cheeseburger for all you meat and cheese lovers.
• May 25 – 31: Aaaaand everything comes full circle, with another ShackBurger giveaway.

As you’d expect, it’s only one free burger per order – and bear in mind that you can’t redeem this offer on drive-thru orders, either. The full T’s & C’s are over on Shake Shack’s website. 

Free Burgers for a Year, for a Couple of People!

To really double down on the National Burger Month vibes, Shake Shack has also just announced a new sweepstakes, in which customers will have the chance to win free burgers for a full year. You can find the link to enter right here, and you can put in your entry until June 1. You don’t even have to buy anything to enter. Which we love!

These dual giveaways are just the latest move in what has been a pretty busy period for Shake Shack. The restaurant has spent much of the last few months adding new items to its menu, like its pimento cheese offerings and its new BBQ sandwich that feels like a gourmet McRib. Sadly, neither of those is included in this giveaway, but hey – you can’t win ‘em all, can you, people?
