Subway Just Added This Trendy New Soda Brand to Menus Nationwide

Poppi’s rise has been pretty unstoppable over the last few years. Founded in 2015, rebranded in 2018, and made into a success in part through viral success, Poppi has been the prebiotic soda on everyone’s lips in the last couple of years. That’s helped by the fact that its flavors are, by and large, all very good, and that it’s started to push into other corners through brand collaborations with franchises like Love Island – and now, by making its way into restaurants.

Yep, that’s right, guys. Poppi is now available in Subways across the country, and you can get one for free today. Yes, today! Here’s the scoop.

Poppi x Subway

Subways in the US will now stock Poppi Orange and Poppi Strawberry Lemon (which came ninth and fourth, respectively, in our taste test of its flavors), and they’re available in its stores as of today. The sandwich chain linked the inclusion of Poppi in its stores to its core principle of “Eat Fresh.” “Subway has proven you can make great-tasting food with real ingredients, and poppi has done the same for soda,” said Subway’s CMO Dave Skena in its press release. We’d also hazard a guess that the reason why the brand has arrived at Subway is that it belongs to PepsiCo, which is the chain’s current beverage partner – but that’s just by the by. 

Poppi, meanwhile, also praised the partnership, pointing towards the increased presence that it will give the emergent brand. “At poppi, we love making better-for-you choices more accessible and more fun, and there’s no better partner for that than Subway,” said Poppi’s VP of marketing, Jenny Danzi. “Launching with Subway allows us to meet consumers in a highly frequented, everyday setting and introduce more people to our delicious, modern take on soda.” So far, it looks like Poppi will be a permanent addition to its menu, and if we’re lucky, we might see more flavors added further down the line. No promises on that, though.
