How do you like to get your protein? Maybe you like it in shakes. Maybe you like it in powder. Maybe you like it in ice cream. Maybe you like it in chips. Maybe you like it in…water. And maybe, just maybe, you prefer to get it from meat, or chickpeas, or any other source that doesn’t involve some kind of wild manufacturing method and a constant eye on nutritional labels.

If you did, I’d get it. I really would. Protein fatigue is so real. And just when I thought that we might have been over the crest of the hill with it and on the way back down, I found out that protein shots are the new thing – and one company has just put out a new, fairly high-profile version. And I flexed my fingers, fired up my laptop, and started to type.
Coming To A Bar Near You! …Maybe
Supplement company NutraBio has recently announced the release of its Protein Now! Protein Shots, which make the act of getting what you need for your gains easier than ever before. No having to chug a shake or engage your jaw muscles in any significant way to chew something. No, no, no. Now, you can just tip a tiny bottle of liquid down your throat, and you’re good to go.
Each Protein Now! Protein Shot has 21 grams of protein in a total of 3.38 fluid ounces of liquid (or 100 milliliters). There are 90 calories in each bottle, with virtually all of it coming from the protein, and with no sugar, fat, and less than one carb per serving. The protein comes from a derivative of whey protein isolate, and it also contains bovine collagen peptides. You can currently get them in three different flavors: Blueberry Açaí, Orange Mango, and Strawberry Watermelon.
The New Normal
Protein Now! Protein Shots aren’t the only protein-packed shot out there: There are a bunch of different options floating around, and this is just the latest one. NutraBio’s fun, lively branding and flavors, though, indicate that it’s trying to push beyond a super-gym-focused market and into something a bit more mainstream.
What might not help the company on that front is the price. A one-time purchase of 12 bottles costs $59.99 on its website, or you can get a subscription for $54. It’s a lot of cash to put down on a limited number of servings. But hey, if you have a combination of a need for sheer convenience and some disposable income, this might be your new favorite delivery vehicle for protein. Maybe. Either way, get ‘em now.
