A Shake Shack Fan Favorite Is (Finally) Returning 

Let’s all take a short step back in time together―the day was June 24, 2025 and everyone was buzzing over the launch of the creamy, crackly, and somehow crispy new milkshake at Shake Shack. The flavor: Dubai chocolate, the never-ending viral food trend. I mean, can anyone even think of the word ‘viral’ anymore without associating it to Dubai chocolate? I know I can’t.

The sell-out shake was an instant hit amongst Shake Shack and Dubai chocolate fans alike with their innovative take on the trending treat. And now, the shake is finally returning to Shacks nationwide. 

The Shake’s Success 

Limited-edition flavors in big chains usually have varying degrees of success, but the debut of the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake spawned round-the-block lines and nearly instant sell-outs at multiple Shake Shack locations across the U.S.  

Released on a smaller scale in the Middle East and at select Shake Shack locations in the U.S., the treat had already become an internet sensation before its official nationwide release last summer. Social media videos gushed over the high-quality flavors of the hand-spun pistachio frozen custard―with pieces of toasted phyllo mixed in―and the Shake Shack debut of their innovative, crackable chocolate shell lining in the cups.  

The shake, topped with more toasted phyllo strips and crushed pistachios, is intended to crack in a way that mimics the classic Dubai chocolate bars themselves. Since the initial release of the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shakes, Shake Shack has continued to recycle the technique of the chocolate shell cups in other seasonal flavors such as their Valentine’s Day True Love Shake and Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake during the holiday season.  

Get It While You Can

The Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake returns in Shacks nationwide on June 9. Still, the shake will only be here for a limited time. The shake components will remain the same due to its initial success, and if the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake follows in the footsteps of its previous launch, then we can expect store limits of 25 shakes per day.  

This highly-anticipated return adds another drop into the bucket of the continued fervor of the Dubai chocolate trend and its social relevance.
