One Of The Original High-Protein Brands Is Expanding Its Line-Up

Protein: Everyone’s at it. The food world simply can’t get enough of it, and we don’t need to tell you that it’s showing up in everything – you’ve definitely noticed that already. This year, though, it’s really been at fever-pitch. It’s not like protein has gone mainstream or anything (I’m not sure a nutrient can go mainstream, given that it’s been around for billions of years), but the names putting it in their food have been bigger and bigger. When Papa Johns is testing protein pizza, you know it’s blown up.

There’s one brand that’s been doing it for a while, though – and now, it’s putting its flag back in the ground, with two new products. Who is it? Let’s discuss.

Kodiak. Yes, the breakfast food and snack company that’s been making protein-powered foods for more than 30 years is gently reasserting its claim on the market with two new launches, which expand its frozen breakfast and snack lineup. These two new products are:

• New Turkey Breakfast Sausage Sandwiches: A combination of turkey sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese on a whole-grain English muffin. Each muffin has 20 grams of protein per serving, and all you have to do is microwave them.
• New Drizzled Mini Granola Bars: This is a bit of a twofer, actually. Kodiak’s new granola bars, made with 100% whole grains, come in Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Blueberry Lemon flavors. Interestingly, while these fit into Kodiak’s protein-forward remit, they’re decidedly not that high in protein, compared to other protein bars that have come out recently. These only have five grams per portion. But they sound good all the same.

Kodiak is launching these new products with a strident emphasis on providing easy, high-quality meal and snack options. “With the launch of our new Turkey Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and Drizzled Minis, we are continuing to prove that convenience doesn’t have to mean compromise,” said the brand’s head of R&D, Sonali Dalvi, in its press release. “We’ve crafted these new options for those who need a quick, effortless win, without sacrificing on high-quality ingredients and protein-packed nutrition.” We love high-quality ingredients! We love protein-packed nutrition! We kinda have no choice in the latter, given that everything has it these days!
