Buffalo Wild Wings is known for their variety of sauces including a regular rotation of limited sauces. It can be hard (and expensive) to try all the sauces at once, so we did it for you! With 25 sauces on the menu (as of writing this in July of 2026), this is our opinion and ranking on the sauces. Now the ranking is, of course, just going to be my opinion (with some input from my partner)―and I’m not a huge fan of spice for the sake of spice. But I’m going in with an open mind and empty belly.

I would also like it noted that Buffalo Wild Wings did my order dirty and didn’t label a single sauce. So I had to sniff test and guess each and every one. Which wouldn’t have been too bad, except I got blindsided by the hottest one very early on. It made for a very interesting taste test to say the least. I may have had to order some more milk for delivery. But for you, I got through it. Also, there’s like 8 sauces all the same color and smell (why are they so into Buffalo?), so those were a little hard to distinguish as well.
The Rankings
- Parmesan Garlic
-
Now, this is entirely a biased opinion. Parmesan Garlic is my favorite sauce from BWW. It’s a creamy perfect blend of parmesan and garlic. A little kick from just the perfect amount of garlic (which is how you know there’s garlic in there). If you’re not a fan of heat and want something other than BBQ, this is a great sauce to try.
- Thai Curry
-
Now this is probably a little biased as well, but I love a good curry. This Thai curry sauce definitely lives up to its name. Is it the best curry ever? Absolutely not. Is it good for some wings while watching a game? Hell yeah. This sauce is a spicy blend of curry and coconut and, for a fast casual restaurant, is a pretty great attempt at a Thai curry.
- Honey BBQ
-
This one is a pretty standard BBQ with a sweet twist. While this round needed a little more honey flavor, this is normally a pretty solid choice for mild sauce lovers. It’s a little thick in terms of BBQ, but when you eat BBQ you expect a mess. This sauce is just living up to that.
- Asian Zing
-
This one gets a little more into the heat. It’s a delightful Asian inspired sauce with soy and ginger and then comes in with a little tickle in your throat of heat. It’s not overly hot so if you’re not a fan of spice, this could still be a good choice.
- Lemon Pepper Rub
-
I was not expecting to like this so much. It didn’t smell particularly lemon-y so I didn’t have very high hopes for it. But it was a delightful surprise. This had a nice citrusy tang that wasn’t in your face lemon like some lemon pepper rubs can be. The pepper was a nice complement.
- Carolina Gold
-
This one was a surprise. I wasn’t expecting to like it at all. I’m a fan of Texas style BBQ sauce so a mustard-based Carolina sauce didn’t seem appealing. But I remained open. And was pleasantly surprised. This sauce is tangy with a little kick. You get that Carolina taste you want with some chili pepper for fun. If you’re looking for something new to try and can’t decide, certainly keep this one in mind. It might surprise you too.
- Buffalo Ranch
-
It’s not a wing joint without Buffalo sauce, now is it? With several options on the menu, it can be hard to decide which Buffalo sauce to pick. I think this Buffalo ranch sauce was the perfect mix of Buffalo and ranch. Plus, no ranch needed for dipping! Creamy, tangy, and buttery. These are perfect for any Buffalo lover who dips into ranch.
- Original Buffalo
-
Okay, you can’t beat a classic. They are called Buffalo Wild Wings after all. It’d be a little weird if their Buffalo sauce sucked (though if you ask my mom, she says it does). This is a great tangy Buffalo with that rich buttery mix. It’s fairly standard in terms of flavor, but if you like Buffalo? Spot on.
- Buffalo Rub
-
I actually kind of almost liked this more than the sauce version. But the sauce ultimately won out because it’s a classic and is so for a reason. But the rub was a nice surprise. I’m not a huge Buffalo fan so I wasn’t expecting to like this rub much. But it gave a nice zing and some good subtle heat.
- Chipotle BBQ Rub
-
Two rubs in a row? I know―wild. I really didn’t expect to like the rubs so much but they were surprisingly good. It packs a nice heat at the end with great BBQ flavor all without the mess of a BBQ sauce.
- Mild
-
This and Buffalo are pretty similar. They’re typical wing sauces. They’re good. They’re saucy. They’ve got a little zing and kick. When you want wings, this is what you’re usually looking for. So not ground breaking, but not disappointing either.
- Medium
-
The only reason this ended up below Mild is because I don’t like heat for heat’s sake and medium feels a bit like that. It’s Mild but hotter and Mild didn’t really need to be hotter in my humble opinion. But some people like heat, so it still ranks decently.
- Jammin’ Jalapeño
-
This one wasn’t bad. Though it promised tequila and I didn’t quite get that. But the lime and jalapeño came through really well. It’s decently balanced for a mild jalapeño kick.
- Lemon Pepper
-
Now you’ll notice that the Lemon Pepper sauce is a little further down than the rub. I just didn’t think the lemon pepper came through in the sauce as well as it did in the rub. Plus, since this is a sauce, it is messy. The rub was a much more enjoyable eating experience.
- Sweet BBQ
-
This is just a fairly standard BBQ sauce. It kind of actually reminded me of Famous Dave’s Sweet ‘N Sassy sauce. Which is good. Just maybe not on a wing. It would be a good sauce for some BBQ though. Or maybe put it on one of their burgers? It would be real good on a burger.
- Teriyaki
-
This is just okay. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Just a pretty basic Teriyaki sauce. If you want Teriyaki, I’d say go get it at an Asian place that will do it better. But it is a nice blend of soy and umami. A little sweet and a lot of savory. It’s good for picky eaters who may not like other things as this has no spice at all.
- Honey Garlic
-
This one missed the mark a little. It’s okay. You get some of the sweetness the honey promises, but I feel like it really didn’t deliver on the garlic promise. If you aren’t expecting a ton of garlic and like your sauces a little sweeter, then this is the perfect pick for you. But I like borderline too much garlic, so this wasn’t for me.
- Desert Heat Rub
-
Now this one promises to be hot but I didn’t find it all that hot. There was definitely a kick, don’t get me wrong. But it didn’t punch me with heat. It has a nice smokiness to it too. But not in a BBQ type of way, just a nice grilled type of way.
- Hot Sauce
-
This is so low mostly because again, I don’t care much for heat without flavor. If you like hot sauce, then this is definitely a good choice. It’s a good consistency and heat. So it makes it a great wing sauce, but just not my style. I like more interesting flavors.
- Spicy Garlic
-
I like this one a little more than the Hot Sauce, but it’s still down there. I did find that it missed the mark on garlic again. I think it’s in part due to the heat. It kills the garlic flavor. So this is just kind of a Hot Sauce 2.0 with maybe a little hint of garlic.
- Lemon Pepper Hot Sauce
-
This gets the same critique that Spicy Garlic got and that’s that the hot sauce kills the lemon pepper flavor. You definitely get it some, but it’s definitely missing that nice citrusy note that the regular lemon pepper sauce and the rub have.
- Mango Habanero
-
Now this was one I wasn’t looking forward to because of the heat. But it wasn’t overly spicy. But it really didn’t give on the flavor. You get just a bit of the mango at first and then it’s quickly overtaken by heat. If this was more balanced and the flavors melded together, it would be so much better. As such, it’s rated low because it’s more about the heat than the flavor. But if you like slightly fruity heat, this may be good for you.
- Salt And Vinegar Rub
-
This was the worst flavor-wise. I don’t know how they got such a strong vinegar taste in a rub, but they managed it and it wasn’t a fun bite. There also wasn’t enough salt. If you’re promising salt and vinegar, give me more than just vinegar!
- Wild
-
This was not a fun sauce. It was just hot. All chili no flavor. I’m of the camp that if something is going to pack heat, it should enhance the flavor of the overall sauce. This doesn’t. Just heat. Just pain. Who are the people out there that like this for fun?
- Blazin’ Knockout
-
Honestly, this and Wild were almost equally terrible, but this one gets a 0. Or maybe -10. They were all heat and no flavor. It felt like a punishment. If you’re a fan of heat, by all means, knock yourself out, but I will not be eating these sauces ever again. The Knockout is what I tried by accident early in the tasting and it took a while to recover to try the other flavors. It was not fun. But for you guys, I’ll take the suffering.
