7-Eleven’s been on a mission lately. A mission to improve, that is. The convenience store chain is going through a transformation in 2026, closing stores, opening new ones, and, most interestingly for us, overhauling its menu in a bid to become more of a food destination in the US. Back in April, we talked about how it was looking to its international stores for inspiration and was planning on introducing a host of dishes inspired by those found in 7-Elevens across the world.

Imagine our surprise, then, when 7-Eleven announced that it was introducing a new range of sandwiches that feel down-the-line American. Hey, a slight diversion perhaps – but not one we’re hugely upset about, because these don’t sound half bad.

7-Eleven New Sandwiches

7-Eleven revealed in a press release yesterday that it was dropping four new sandwiches on its regular store menus (as well as at participating Stripe and Speedway stores), and a fifth one at Raise the Roost restaurants. These are far from the prepackaged sandwiches you might associate with the chain; rather, they’re full-on fast food items.

Now on sale are:

  • Hot as Fire (Hot AF!) Chicken Sandwich: A cayenne-seasoned, crunchy chicken breast fillet in a bun. Simple, hot, (hopefully) effective.
  • Homestyle Chicken Sandwich: A simple chicken sandwich, with what 7-Eleven’s calling a “homestyle” vibe. By which we feel it means straightforward. Down the line. No fuss. Etc.
  • Angus Double Cheeseburger: Okay, 7-Eleven! Two chargrilled Angus beef patties are topped with American cheese and served in a brioche bun.
  • The Classic Philly Cheesesteak: Sliced grilled steak, provolone, and sauteed onions and peppers in a hoagie roll.
  • Ultimate BBQ Chicken Sandwich: 7-Eleven’s Raise the Roost exclusive, the Ultimate BBQ Chicken Sandwich featured a breaded patty tossed in BBQ sauce, popped into a brioche-style bun, and topped with fried pickle chips, pepper jack cheese, and smoky bacon.

All of these sandwiches range from $4.99 to $5.99, and they’ll be available through August 25.

And Are They Any Good?

Well, apparently…they are! Having said this, they’re obviously convenience store sandwiches, and so won’t rival the kind you’d find in a restaurant or a more upmarket fast food place – but so far, according to people who have tried some of them, they could be a lot worse. “You can get a spicier sandwich at Dave’s, you can get a bigger sandwich at Popeye’s, you can get a more premium sandwich at Chick-fil-A, but honestly, for what it is, I thought it delivered,” said one person on Reddit who tried the chicken sandwich – and who went back and bought it again. “Color me surprised.” Further verdicts to come.
