Panera Bread’s Taylor Swift Deal Is Filled With Puns

You’ve more than likely heard that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot this past weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Many food brands have been chiming in following this star-studded event to offer Swifties and Travis Kelce fans some free grub to celebrate. One such brand includes Panera Bread, which will offer customers a free loaf of sourdough bread for a limited time throughout the month. Swift has said she enjoys making sourdough bread on multiple occasions, so maybe there’s a connection there with this promotion.

The Loaf Story At Panera Bread

If you’re ready to experience The Loaf Story for yourself, you’re going to have to be one of the first 13 guests to visit participating Panera Bread locations throughout the country on July 9th. While 13 loaves per store may not initially seem like a lot, Swift has touted 13 to be her lucky number, so it would make sense that only 13 per location would be available at each store to mark the occasion. 

Along with the free bread, you can also look forward to picking up some branded sticks filled with puns to match the occasion, with cute sayings like “the best thing since sourdough.” Swifties, especially, are probably going to be grabbing these up―so even if you’re only interested in the limited edition stickers, you’ll want to be one of those first 13.

The Tortured Dough Department

Panera has been on a roll so far this summer, bringing back fan-favorites and adding new refreshers to compete with Starbucks and other chains. They’ve even seen their fair share of a weird collab here and there, so it’s clear that Panera Bread is intent on making headlines. A limited time Taylor Swift tie-in makes sense, even if there’s no clear connection between Taylor and the brand.

Both the sourdough loaves and stickers are on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you use Panera Bread’s store locator and contact your nearest locations ahead of time to find out which one you’d like to visit this July 9th. And make sure you know what time each location opens so you can be one of the first, as store opening times may vary. 

That said, it’s important to note that there is only one sourdough loaf available per person (up to 13), so if you planned on picking one up for any fellow Swifties, you’ll need to make it a group outing instead.
