It’s crazy to see just how far Mountain Dew Baja Blast has come. From being a Taco Bell exclusive, to slowly leaking its way into stores. Baja Blast is finally entering the big leagues as it gets the Mexican Coke treatment―real cane sugar.

First Off, The Bottles Look Cool

I guess it makes sense that Mountain Dew had to really design the hell out of this bottle. They are competing with the iconic look of the Coca-Cola glass bottle and I’d say that Mountain Dew did a pretty good job. It’s sleek, it’s unique, it’s small? Wait, what was that last thing? The glass bottle of Baja Blast does have one shortcoming. It’s only 12oz. A considerable downgrade from the 20oz bottle of a normal Mountain Dew.

I guess there were some necessary sacrifices. It makes sense, considering how much more expensive cane sugar is compared to high fructose corn syrup. The real sugar makeover was first revealed by soda insiders at the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Expo. PepsiCo’s confirmed that select fan-favorite sodas are getting the 12oz glass bottle makeover.

These Are Going To Go Fast

Glass bottles of real sugar Mountain Dew Baja Blast are already making their way into stores. Which means that now is the time to get out and stock up! You’ll be able to find the glass bottles of Mountain Dew Baja Blast in a convenient to carry 4-pack. Which means you can get them from the shelf into your cart as you stock the heck up.

There’s no official announcement on how long these will be around for (there hardly ever is). That means that they are going to go fast and quite frankly, we don’t even know if they’ll get an initial restock. Suit up and get ready to throw some elbows. It’s about to get messy!

Reheat Mexican Coke’s Nachos

It makes sense that Mountain Dew would want to capitalize on the success they’ve seen Mexican Coke have. What else would get people to routinely add on a soda that’s three times the price of the high fructose corn syrup alternative on their DoorDash orders? The people love cane sugar and it shows!

The only thing left to determine is where you’ll bring your newly minted bottles of cane sugar Baja Blast. Are you bold enough to bring them right into Taco Bell and skip the soda fountain version? I commend you if you are!
