The available options of ready-to-drink coffee are ever expanding. Last year, a new brand entered the space. Jolene coffee was founded by Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and his longtime friend (and past Survivor player) Shane Powers. They kicked things off with a can of cold brew coffee and an oat milk latte option. This week they’re doubling things up with three new additions to the lineup.

Coffee (Almost) Any Way You Want It
Jolene’s first new flavors since their launch will include red velvet, salted caramel, and hazelnut. Founder Anthony Kiedis marks the red velvet as his favorite. It will combine smooth cold brew, creamy oat milk, and throw in red velvet notes for a hopefully rich experience. Shane Powers on the other hand prefers the salted caramel. Mixing layers of buttery dulce de leche, rich caramel, and a touch of sea salt into Jolene coffee, you’re in for one indulgent drink. Lastly, the hazelnut variety pairs cold brew with toasted hazelnut for a warm, roasted flavor.
This Is What (C-List) Celebrity Status Gets You
Let’s be real for a second. Kiedis and Powers are celebrities in their own right but like, they’re not that big of celebrities—even though I will always go to bat for how much of a beloved character Shane Powers was on Survivor in my eyes. That’s working in our favor, though! That means they have time to invest into the creation of these new flavors.
Every flavor was developed hand in hand with Kiedis and Powers. They set out to create new offerings that are a bit more unique than what you’d find in stores at the moment. I can respect the work they’ve done for us.
Where To Find Jolene Coffee
Like all Jolene coffee, these cans are made with organic single-origin coffee beans and contain no artificial flavors or sweeteners—a growing, but critical, goal for the coffee aisle. The ethos for Jolene is that “everything happens over coffee” and that seems to only be enforced through these new offerings. Now you have more flavors to match whatever mood you’re in. I think the only logical next step is to give us something savory. Now that would really be breaking the mold!
The three flavors will initially be available at retailers in New York City and through jolenecoffee.com. Jolene is also expanding its footprint every week in the Northeast and Southern California. You can keep up with new locations as they’re added to the store locator on their site.
