Milk Bar has made a lot of cookies, cakes, pies, and basically anything else that can satisfy a sweet tooth. But now, the bakery wants to do things a bit differently by teaming up with Beyond Meat to bring back savory baked goods for the first time in years.

The collaboration brings two new limited-edition pastries: the Beyond Breakfast Sausage & Egg Spiral and the Beyond Meatball Parm Roll. Both will be available for just over a month,
Milk Bar Is Going Savory Again
Milk Bar is famous for its cookies, cakes, pies, and Cereal Milk treats, so seeing something savory in the bakery case might come as a surprise.
But savory food has actually been part of Milk Bar’s history. The bakery says fans have been asking for its savory creations to return for years and this collaboration gives the bakery a chance to bring that side of the menu back.
Both pastries use Beyond Meat’s plant-based protein products while keeping the cheesy, saucy, flaky goodness that makes these foods so tempting.
The collaboration is available for a limited time from from August 26th through October 5th, so fans in New York City and Los Angeles will have until October 5th to get a taste.
The Breakfast Pastry Looks Very Worth Waking Up For
The Beyond Breakfast Sausage & Egg Spiral has pretty much everything a breakfast fan could want.
Milk Bar basically takes flaky pastry dough and fills it with pieces of Beyond Breakfast Sausage, fluffy egg, and melty cheese. It is then baked into a spiral shape. Milk Bar calls it a swirled ring, which is a fancier way to describe what is basically a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast hiding inside a pastry.
There is also sriracha cream cheese in the recipe, along with cheddar. That little bit of heat should make the breakfast a bit more spicy than the usual sausage-and-egg sandwich.
The Meatball Parm Roll Sounds Even Better
The Beyond Meatball Parm Roll might be the more exciting of the two. Milk Bar takes Beyond Meatballs, marinara, sautéed onions, mozzarella, and Parmesan and wraps them in golden baked dough. This gives you the shape of a meatball sub, only in flaky pastry form.
And Milk Bar is not being shy with the filling. Its recipe uses three Beyond Meatballs per pastry, along with tomato sauce and onions. After the pastry bakes, it gets topped with mozzarella and Parmesan and goes back into the oven until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
You Can Make Them At Home
Anyone outside New York City or Los Angeles is not completely out of luck.
Milk Bar has put the recipes for both new pastries online, so fans can try making them at home. The recipes are available through MilkBarStore.com alongside the bakery’s other recipes.
The Meatball Parm Roll might be the easier one to make at home because you can skip the fancy molds and shape the pastry however you want. The breakfast spiral is a little more involved, but it still uses store-bought croissant dough, which should make things considerably easier.
Only Around For A Few Weeks
The new Beyond Breakfast Sausage & Egg Spiral and Beyond Meatball Parm Roll are out due to fans begging for the return of savory food, but they won’t be here for long.
The Beyond Meat x Milk Bar collaboration runs from August 26th through October 5th at Milk Bar’s flagship bakeries in New York City and Los Angeles.
