There’s a dichotomy that lies at the heart of Little Debbie that I think about a lot. On the face of things, the baked goods brand feels cozy, quaint, and almost languorous in its homespun nature. The old-school logo, the presence of Little Debbie herself: In a parallel universe, these cakes could be made in someone’s home kitchen. Except they’re not, because Little Debbie is also one of the relentlessly speedy brands out there, and seems to add another new product or collaboration to its roster every week in its apparent quest for baked goods domination. It’s nonstop.

And the Little Debbie train has rolled into the station once again – this time, with a new mini muffin flavor. Here’s the deal.
Little Debbie Flapjack Mini Muffins
Little Debbie has just announced its new Flapjack Mini Muffins, which its press release says will “deliver the comforting, syrupy flavor of a classic Sunday morning breakfast without any of the kitchen mess.” Essentially, these are a mash-up of pancakes, syrups, and portable treats: Each one is infused with sweet maple notes that mimic the flavor of a just-cooked flapjack, but with none of the potential stickiness.
I do have to admit that the name of these confused me initially, but that’s because here in the UK, flapjacks are a mashup of oats, butter, brown sugar and golden syrup – a kind of granola bar that has very little by way of nutrition, but which is very, very tasty. But I digress! That’s not what’s going on here. Little Debbie is pitching its new Flapjack Mini Muffins as a way to combine classic morning flavors and the modern desire for portable food options: “We wanted to capture the warmth and comfort of a traditional family breakfast and make it accessible for today’s fast-paced lifestyle,” says the brand’s product manager, Hannah Norman. “Flapjack Mini Muffins offer that beloved pancake taste in a neat, pre-packaged pouch, making it easier than ever to share a moment of joy with your family, even on your busiest mornings.”

And once any diehard Little Debbie fans have had their mini muffins for breakfast, they can head over to Crumbl and get the chain’s Cosmic Brownie cookie, another one of its collabs – which we also tried this week. Like I said: Baked goods domination.
