Pistachios are having a very good couple of years. They’ve been stuffed into chocolate bars, turned into creamy fillings, sprinkled over desserts, and given the internet about 500 opportunities to remind us what Dubai chocolate looks like when you break it in half.

Now, they’re coming to the Walmart candy aisle in a slightly simpler form.

Chocolove is expanding its Walmart lineup with two new chocolate bars this month, including a Pistachios & Sea Salt in Milk Chocolate bar. And if pistachios aren’t your nut of choice, there’s also a new Walnuts & Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate bar joining it.

No fillings. No elaborate layers. Just nuts, chocolate, and salt. Sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the chocolate bar.

Chocolove Has Two New Nutty Chocolate Bars

The Pistachios & Sea Salt in Milk Chocolate bar pairs creamy milk chocolate with roasted pistachios and sea salt. Given how thoroughly pistachio has taken over the chocolate world lately, this feels like a fairly logical time to give the nut some more space on Walmart shelves.

But I’m also very intrigued by the second new flavor. Chocolove’s Walnuts & Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate combines dark chocolate with walnuts and sea salt, and walnuts don’t exactly get the same candy-aisle attention as peanuts, almonds, or, increasingly, pistachios.

Walnuts tend to spend their time in brownies, banana bread, and that bag in the back of your baking cupboard you bought for one recipe six months ago. Seeing them get their own chocolate bar feels like a small promotion.

Both new bars lean into the sweet-and-salty thing, with sea salt cutting through the chocolate and the nuts adding some crunch. One gives you the creamier milk chocolate-pistachio combination, while the other goes darker and nuttier with walnuts.

Walmart Will Now Carry 4 Chocolove Flavors

The two newcomers are joining two Chocolove bars already sold at Walmart: Hawaiian Sea Salt in Strong Dark Chocolate and Almonds & Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate.

That brings the Walmart lineup to four flavors, all of which involve sea salt in some capacity. Chocolove has clearly picked a side in the salted-versus-unsalted chocolate debate.

The whole lineup is also getting new packaging, so the existing bars will look a little different on shelves even though their recipes haven’t changed.

Chocolove says the new Pistachios & Sea Salt and Walnuts & Sea Salt bars are rolling out to Walmart stores this month. The brand is also partnering with Ibotta, so shoppers can earn cash back on qualifying Chocolove purchases at Walmart and other supported retailers through the Ibotta app.

Personally, I’m just pleased walnuts got invited. Pistachios may be the popular kid of the nut world right now, but there’s room in the chocolate aisle for both.
