Admittedly, there’s something that feels inherently festive about Toll House. Maybe it’s just because we always associate the holidays with warm, delicious, and freshly baked cookies, but especially after Toll House’s elaborate seasonal collection that they released for fall, we were excited to see if they would continue this festive celebration through the winter holidays too. Luckily for us, the way that they have chosen to start off the holiday season is not only bound to be delicious, but it pulls at our heart strings in every nostalgic, sentimental way.

You see, kids of the ’90s and early 2000s really had the peak of holiday media at our fingertips. From Disney’s Channel’s generational run of holiday episodes to all of the iconic films that we saw added to the catalog of Holiday content like Elf and Love Actually, we certainly didn’t know how good we really had it.
But if you were a kid during the early 2000s specifically, there is one movie I think that would stand out as particularly nostalgic. That film is, of course, Polar Express. It was shown ritualistically in a lot of public schools and was seemingly always running on cable TV. Even if it wasn’t your favorite movie, it feels inherently transportive to a certain time and place. So, for Nestlé Toll House’s winter collection to consist of Polar Express-themed treats, we were obviously kiddy with child-like glee. Let’s get into the details together, shall we?
Sweet, Sweet Memories: Now In The Baking Aisle
The first thing that we see included in this collaboration is making it as easy as possible for us to enjoy a freshly baked Polar Express-themed baked good. It is a 14-oz. pack of ready-to-bake cookie dough, and the dough itself is your standard chocolate chip-style cookie dough with hot chocolate and marshmallow-flavored baking morsels as well as festive sprinkles. The sprinkles have both flat red circles and little green leaves that represent the look of holly with its red berries.
Of course, you have to go back to the basics with Toll House and represent these new launches and collaborations through how we all came to know and love the company’s products to begin with: baking chips. If you would prefer to make the cookie dough yourself, or would prefer a different dessert entirely, then rest assured that the hot cocoa and marshmallow-flavored morsels in the cookie dough are available on their own as well in your standard bag of baking chips.
Honestly, I really feel like this is one of those genius collaborations that feels so inherently festive and reminiscent of childhood holiday magic that it doesn’t even matter if the product itself is good. If your in-school Polar Express experiences were anything like mine, then there were surely packets of Swiss Miss, mini marshmallows, and styrofoam cups involved. Even the wateriest hot cocoa felt so special, and we’re sure that this collection will take that nostalgic experience and turn it into something properly delicious.
