This week at Crumbl, they’re really going all out for Halloween. From flavors to decorations, everything is aptly on theme. That, of course, includes the cookie that we tried today that’s flavors feel indicative of all our favorite Halloween candies. While the first thing that comes to mind for people’s favorite Halloween candy is surely going to differ from person to person, I would bet good money on the fact that a lot of people’s answer has something to do with that fabulous combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

So naturally, we’re gonna give the people what they want and give you all the inside scoop as to whether or not Crumbl’s Peanut Butter Cup Blondie Cookie is a good pick this week. The cookie itself is a peanut butter dough with mini peanut butter cups mixed throughout. It is then topped with a drizzle of both peanut butter and melted milk chocolate and served warm. From the sound of it, it seems like an easy ten out of ten, but let’s get into our official Sporked review.

Our Official Thoughts

Pros — Quite honestly, this is one of the best Crumbl cookies we’ve ever tasted because it is distinctly balanced in a way that is so rare to come by at Crumbl. Not only is it actually properly seasoned with salt, but it doesn’t even have that high of a sugar index to begin with, so it’s a lot easier to combat that overwhelming sweetness. I think that is largely to do with the fact that it is a peanut butter-based cookie, and therefore that flavor is the thing that is most pronounced rather than the cloying sweetness.

On top of that, the texture of this cookie is very pleasant compared to what we usually get from Crumbl. Since it served warm, the contrast between the shatteringly crispy exterior layer of the cookie and the tender and gooey (yet cooked all the way through) center of the cookie is very delightful. This cookie doesn’t rely on being underbaked in order to be soft and moist. Again, we suspect this is largely to do with the peanut butter component.

Beyond the success of the texture and balance that this cookie provides, we have to give this cookie. The flavor itself really pulls at our heart strings. The peanut butter chocolate combo, especially during this week of the year, is nostalgic and oh-so comforting.

Cons — On the very same note that this cookie is a success due to its nostalgic flavor, we also have to mention the fact that it really doesn’t taste very chocolate forward. The peanut butter is definitely the more dominant flavor, and the balance that you get in a peanut butter cup between the chocolate and peanut butter components isn’t really as perfected in this cookie.

Granted, we didn’t necessarily expect it to be since the cookie itself was going to be peanut butter flavored. That said, it was still very delicious and still deeply nostalgic, especially when you actually get a bite with the little peanut butter cups in it.
