Big news, all you ginger ale fans out there. You’re getting a new Canada Dry flavor. No, it’s not the blackberry. Sorry to get your hopes up. But it is a new entry in Canada Dry’s Fruit Splash line! Let’s dive into the bubbly details.

What is this new Canada Dry flavor?

It’s Fruit Splash Strawberry Ginger Ale! Yep, a little taste of early summer in the doldrums of winter. But what exactly does that mean? Well, “Fruit Splash” is Canada Dry’s way of saying there’s a lil’ bit of real fruit juice in the mix. The only other Fruit Splash flavor is Cherry Fruit Splash. How much is a lil’ bit? Well, there’s less than 2% of cherry concentrate in the Cherry Fruit Splash, so not a whole heck of a lot.

Wait, is this actually a new Canada Dry flavor?

Okay, you caught me. Canada Dry Fruit Splash Strawberry Ginger Ale actually debuted earlier this year as part of a summer variety pack sold at Costco and Sam’s Club. But now you’ll be able to get both a full sugar and a zero sugar version in single bottles or 12-can packs.

Is it a store exclusive?

While the variety pack was only sold at Costco and Sam’s club, snack and soda expert @markie_devo writes that it will be sold nationwide at “major stores that carry Canada Dry.”

When is it available?

While the official release is February 2, some stores have already started carrying this new Canada Dry flavor. So keep your eyes peeled.

Is it any good?

While it doesn’t have a cult following like Canada Dry Blackberry or Green Tea, people who tried it as part of the variety pack are generally pretty pleased with the flavor, saying the strawberry blends nicely with the sweet ginger.  We were pretty big fans of the Canada Dry Fruit Splash Cherry, so we have high hopes for this one. Stay tuned for our review!

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
