My wishes came true: The best Coca-Cola Creations flavor has returned. The monkey’s paw really did its job with this one. Yes, Coca-Cola Starlight is back! But it’s only at a fast food chain! And it’s exclusively sold as part of a combo meal! And the nearest location is an hour from my house! I truly got what I wanted…sort of, I guess. Anyway, I made my way to Jack in the Box to pick up a “Coca-Cola Starlight Munchie Meal.” Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, it’s time to gaze at the stars.
Wait, bottles of Coca-Cola Starlight are only available at Jack in the Box?
Yep! The only explanation I can come up with is that Jack in the Box couldn’t just add this Coke flavor to their soda fountains for a limited time because they don’t have traditional soda fountains; they have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. And they couldn’t just add the flavor to the Freestyle machine because, despite the name, Coca-Cola Starlight isn’t “Coke plus flavor.” It’s a whole new soda.
And you have to buy a combo meal to get this bottle of soda?
Not only that—you have to buy a thirteen-dollar combo meal. The Starlight Munchie Meal from Jack in the Box is…wild. The name is appropriate; this meal definitely has the vibe of “a stoner picked too many things off the menu.” My meal included the essential bottle of Coca-Cola Starlight plus a large chicken sandwich (I could have picked a double burger instead but I was already doing too much to myself), four chicken nuggets, an order of curly fries, and five “tiny tacos.”
Effort, travel, and cost aside, does this Coke flavor still taste as good as I remember? Read on for the full review of Jack in the Box’s Coca-Cola Starlight.
