Y’all remember those Flavor Swap chips we talked about a couple of weeks ago? If you don’t, here’s the quick rundown: PepsiCo announced they were releasing three versions of their iconic snacks flavored like their other iconic snacks. Confused? Let’s go through the chips:

  • Doritos Cool Ranch on Ruffles
  • Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream on Doritos
  • Lay’s Sweet Southern Heat Barbecue on Cheetos Crunchy

Got it? Good. Well, we have an update! These new chips will officially go on sale this Monday, February 16 (that’s TODAY!).

Where do I buy these amazing new chips?

Head on over to ye olde TikTok Shoppe. There, you can get an early taste of these limited edition snacks before they hit real brick-and-mortar stores nationwide in March.

Has PepsiCo ever sold something like this before?

Glad you asked! This is actually the first ever limited release drop that PepsiCo has ever sold on TikTok Shop. Historic! Don’t you want to be part of history? No? Well, don’t you want Cool Ranch Ruffles? That’s what I thought.

Why are they selling chips on TikTok shop?

According to the brand, they’re targeting TikTok Shop because that’s where Gen Z is—apparently 68% of Gen Zers have bought something directly from a social media platform. Sorry, fellow Millennials, we are no longer the target demo.

Which flavor are you going to buy first?

Personally, I’m looking at those Cheddar & Sour Cream Doritos. My brain can’t really get itself around the concept. But it really feels like it can’t fail.

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
