A lot of things have been happening in the world of flavored milk that I wasn’t aware of until recently. If you are still guzzling boring old chocolate milk, a.) I’m very jealous of your lead-bellied lactose tolerance, and, b.) I have a hot tip for you: There’s a whole line of flavored low-fat milks called Nestlé Sensations, and they’re doing a lot. The brand previously released Froot Loops- and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnamilk-flavored milks, and now they’re delving further into the cereal world—and expanding beyond it—with two new Nestlé Sensations flavors: Nestlé Sensations Eggo Maple Waffle Flavored Milk and Nestlé Sensations Frosted Flakes Cereal Flavored Milk. We cracked open both bottles, threw tummy-trouble caution to the wind, and tasted them to find out if they’re worthy of your milk money.

Nestlé Sensations Frosted Flakes Cereal Flavored Milk

I absolutely love Frosted Flakes. Every time I eat Frosted Flakes as part of a taste test here at Sporked, I say aloud to absolutely no one, “Why don’t I eat Frosted Flakes more often?” Anyway, I was prepared to love this Nestlé Sensations milk, but I was let down. It smells and tastes corny. I get it. Frosted Flakes are made of corn. I just don’t think the toasted corn essence matches the toasted corn flavor in Frosted Flakes. Also, Frosted Flakes milk is a naturally occurring substance. This needs to be tastier than the genuine article, and I don’t think it is. That said, it isn’t bad. It’s sweet, creamy low-fat milk! Hell yeah!

Nestlé Sensations Eggo Maple Waffle Flavored Milk

This is what I’m talking about! Unlike Frosted Flakes milk, waffle milk is not a naturally occurring substance, so right away this Nestlé Sensations milk is earning its keep in the fridge. It tastes more like syrup than it tastes like Eggo waffles, but that’s a-ok with me. It’s so, so creamy, and it tastes like cold, delicious pancake syrup—not maple syrup, necessarily, but something sweeter and more buttery, like Pearl Milling Company. If you’re going to try just one of these new Nestlé Sensations flavors, I think you should try this one.

About the Author

Gwynedd Stuart

Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks. Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction. Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home. Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
