The good people at GHOST Energy sent over a few early cans of their new Raspberry Cream flavor ahead of the retail launch expected later this month. I decided to really put this one to the test by drinking it the day I got home from an out-of-state wedding (congrats Emerald and Matt!) which happened to be the same day I needed to pack for an out-of-state work trip to NYC. I’m going to need energy today; let’s see if GHOST Raspberry Cream has the juice.

Pros: I can’t say I’ve had the raspberry equivalent of an orange creamsicle before, but this feels extremely accurate to the concept. The raspberry flavor is dead-on to the point where I found myself double-checking whether or not this contained any real fruit juice. Spoilers, it doesn’t. As usual, GHOST does immaculate work with their flavoring and sweeteners—you could trick any grandma into thinking this was just some newfangled raspberry juice.
Cons: Maybe I’ve had too many really good GHOST Energy flavors before, but this didn’t even crack the top five for me. This is super accurate, but 16 ounces of accuracy means a lot of raspberry flavor. For me, it was a little too much before I even got close to the end of the can. I’ll be sticking with ‘Merica Pop or Electric Limeade when it comes to GHOST.

What’s next for GHOST?
You didn’t hear this from me, but it sure looks like Raspberry Cream won’t be the only “Fruit + Cream” energy flavor from GHOST. Per the heavy hitter of early GHOST news, Blueberry Cream is on the horizon. Beyond that, I’ve also heard we should expect Blue Raspberry, Strawberry Watermelon, and a Grape Cranberry collaboration with Welch’s. GHOST’s unoriginally-named “Original” flavor will also be launching in stores right around Raspberry Cream. As for me, I’m still waiting for that legally-feasible Dr Pepper flavor.
