We just learned that U.S. Taco Bell locations will be getting an international addition later this year. That’s awesome. I am truly psyched to try the Butter Chicken Taco from India. But why stop there, Taco Bell? Let us Americans have a taste of some of the other global Taco Bell specialties? At the moment, I’m drooling over three items from Korea’s Taco Bell menu. Here’s what I need to come to U.S. Taco Bells right now. (Honorable mention to having carnitas as a meat option—why can’t we have that?)

Kimchi Everything

It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but there’s a lot of kimchi on Korea’s Taco Bell menu. You can get a Kimchi Burrito and Kimchi Cheese Fries, but the real crowd pleaser is the Kimchi Quesadilla, which comes with spicy chicken, melted cheese, and kimchi. Funky kimchi plus spicy Taco Bell chicken? Give it!

Beef Potato Bowl

The pictures make this look almost like Taco Bell’s version of bibimbap. It shows an ovular bowl with individual scoops of lettuce, rice, sour cream, potatoes, pico de gallo, jalapenos, and ground beef, with a pile of cheese in the middle. It sounds like the taco salad of my dreams.

Chocodilla

While it’s not strictly relegated to Korean Taco Bell menus (you can get it in the Philippines, Japan, and even Spain, amongst other countries), the Chocodilla is still worth mentioning here because oh my god. It’s exactly what you think: a grilled quesadilla with chocolate instead of cheese. Come on!

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
