Do New Mountain Dew Flavored Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers Actually Taste Like Mountain Dew? We Tried Them to Find Out

We’ve already discussed and reviewed the new (incredible) Trolli-flavored Mountain Dew. Now it’s time to talk about the new Mountain Dew-flavored Trolli Crawlers. These gummies come in a mixed bag featuring three different Mountain Dew-inspired flavors: Original Citrus, Original Citrus Cherry (Code Red), and Original Citrus Blue Raspberry (Voltage). Are they any good? And how much do they actually taste like Mountain Dew? Let’s dive right into the bag and find out how well these worms do the dew!

Trolli Mountain Dew sour Brite Crawlers

Pros: All three flavors of these gummy worms have a nice balance of sweet and sour—a classic Sour Brite Crawlers experience. Comparing each flavor side by side with the corresponding flavors of Mountain Dew, I found Original Citrus Blue Raspberry to be very reminiscent of Voltage (plus the added sour flavor from the gummy worms). And Original Citrus Cherry was somewhat similar to Code Red, though not as close as the blue worms. Overall, these are a pretty solid release.

Cons: The Original Citrus does not taste like Mountain Dew at all, y’all. I’m reminded more of a lemon-lime soda. Is it bad? Definitely not. Is it disappointing that the “OG” flavor is the least accurate to the corresponding Mountain Dew flavor? Absolutely. I was also a little disappointed to learn that these are a limited time only drop.

Verdict: Mileage may vary in terms of Mountain Dew flavor accuracy, but if you’re willing to look past that, you’ll want to add this new release to your shopping list, stat.
