New Devilish Lime Cherry Diet Coke Is Now Available at AMC

AMC Theaters is really knocking it out of the park right now—where funky new snacks and drinks are concerned, at least. In the last couple of weeks alone, we’ve been hit with a flurry of news concerning the theater chain’s concession options, as well as how it’s extending those to a store near you. We’ve had a new purple Starry drink released. We’ve seen it tease a popcorn bucket shaped like a handbag. And we’ve been titillated with the prospect of a mystery popcorn flavor. Someone over there is very into snacks at the moment.

Now, we’re getting yet another AMC exclusive, in the form of a brand-new Diet Coke. Introducing the Devilish Lime Cherry Chic flavor, which is now available at a theater near you, until May 6. Here’s what you need to know.

Devilish Lime Cherry Chic

In case you haven’t guessed by now, the new Diet Coke Devilish Lime Cherry Chic, with its very modish name, is being released in tandem with The Devil Wears Prada 2. This fashionable beverage takes the tartness of Diet Coke Lime and mixes it with a fruity cherry twist that gives it a boost of sweetness and an extra layer of flavor. It’s a fun twist without going too wild or over-the-top (which we hope Miranda Priestley would approve of, with the Meryl Streep character being the master of all things good taste).

As with all movie tie-ins, though, you shouldn’t expect this new Diet Coke to stick around for long. The drink dropped on March 27, and it’ll only be in AMC Theaters until May 6. There’s a chance it might make it to a grocery store aisle near you somewhere down the line if it’s really popular, but for now, you’d better get your butt to the theater. You don’t even need to buy a ticket to get it, but hey, we should all be supporting the movie industry.

And How Does It Taste?

You know what…apparently, it’s pretty good! Diet Coke Devilish Lime Cherry Chic, with its cumbersome name, has been a moderate hit with people who have tried it so far. “I dislike lime Coke, but this was pretty good, I went back for more. The cherry balanced the lime,” said one person in a comment over on Instagram, on a post discussing the release of the drink.

We love that kinda honesty, and we’re also glad to hear it – especially considering that we dislike Lime Coke too. When Diet Coke Lime last came out, we gave it a pretty scathing review. So, it’s a pleasure to hear that the brand has figured out how to make it much more palatable. Apparently, all it ever needed was a bit of cherry flavor.
