Hey guess what: Takis makes Cheetos now. I mean, to be clear, Takis didn’t team up with Cheetos to make a new Cheetos flavor (though that would be pretty neat). They’re basically releasing a Cheetos’ knock-off called “Takis Pix.” If that sounds uninteresting to you, WAIT. Don’t go. I have even more important news:

Along with Pix, Takis will release brand new flavors in their OG rolled-corn-chip style. Now we’re talking, Takis. Now. We’re. Talking.
UPDATE: When I originally reported on this, there were only three new Takis flavors announced. Well, kids. We’re actually getting six new rolled corn chip flavors. Three of them are releasing nationwide, while the other three are store exclusive.
What are the new Takis flavors?
The three new rolled corn chip flavors releasing nationwide are:
- Takis Smokin’ BBQ: smoky, savory, grill-inspired flavor
- Takis Xtreme Lime: all the tang, but NO SPICE (whoa)
- Takis Pickled Jalapeño: a classic, smooth jalapeño flavor
And these are the three new Takis flavors that are coming exclusively to certain grocery chains:
- Crazy Buffalo (Kroger): tangy, vinegary buffalo flavor
- Pickle Punch (Albertsons, Circle K, Walgreens, and Five Below): a pickle flavor with extra brine
- Hot Honey (Walmart): sweet honey up with a slow-building heat
Every flavor above should be out as of February 9!
Meanwhile, the two new Takis Pix flavors releasing nationwide are:
- Takis Pix Fuego (duh)
- Takis Pix Cheezy Blast (the closest thing to a Cheetos knock-off we’ll probably ever get)
Takis Pix comes in a bit later than the others, hitting Kroger stores on February 22, followed by Walmart on March 7.
My god. That’s *checks notes* EIGHT new Takis on the way.
Yep. As the resident Takis fan of the Sporked team (not to out my fellow Sporked writers, but they all find Takis too heavy on the citric acid and not super enjoyable), I’ve already bought a new jar of Tums for the office in preparation. I’m excited. Pickled Jalapeño sounds pretty funky, in a good way. And I’m not sure how their lime flavor could get any more extreme than it already is, but I’m more than willing to find out. (I have no faith in the hot honey flavor. None. Zero. Let this trend die, please.)
And yeah, I’ll be brave and say it: I’m a tiny bit skeptical about Pix, aka the crunchy Cheetos dupes, too. Takis has a ton of snack product lines outside of their original rolled corn chip, and most (if not all) of them are just not nearly as good as their flagship snack.
Really? How many Takis varieties are out there?
Too many!!! Here’s a quick rundown:
- Takis Rolls (the OG rolled corn chip)
- Takies Waves (wavy potato chips)
- Takis Kettlez (kettle potato chips)
- Takis Chippz (regular potato chips)
- Takis Crisps (Pringles dupes)
- Takis Hot Nuts (flavored peanuts)
- Takis Stix (light, stick-shaped corn snacks)
- Takis Duo (sweet watermelon popcorn mixed with OG Fuego Takis in one bag)
You’re right, Ariana, as always. They are doing too much. But I still think you should try them all anyway and report back.
Oh, don’t you worry reader, we will. We. Will.
