White Castle knows how to keep things classic. The first fast food chain in America, it’s never been one to stray particularly far away from its core formula of beef-based sliders, and honestly, it hasn’t needed to – those things still hit the spot more than a century later, even when they’re in frozen form. More recently, though, White Castle’s been embracing the power of change, whether that’s by mixing up its store-bought sliders (with a Cheddar Bacon option that’s turning heads) or by championing ever-weirder ways to serve its food (White Castle vending machine, anyone?).

And now, it’s embracing a whole new vibe. White Castle has just introduced two new Southwest-tinged menu items, the Chicken Fajita Slider and Jalapeño Cravioli, and we’re here to talk about them. Let’s get our spice on.

White Castle’s New Menu Items

The venerable chain’s two new items, as per our favorite snack Instagram account @markie_devo, are:

Chicken Fajita Sliders

This new chicken sandwich combines a crispy, white-meat chicken patty, grilled onions and peppers, jalapeño cheese, and green chili aioli, all tucked into a White Castle bun. Although the Chicken Fajita Slider is a new addition to its wider menu, it’s actually been in development for a long time: It was first tested way back in 2021 in Indianapolis, before being brought back last year for another swing. Now, it’s finally going nationwide. We admire that White Castle’s leaning into slightly more adventurous flavors here, and provided those veggies aren’t a bust, this one could be great.

Jalapeño Cravioli

No, these aren’t crab-filled ravioli, which is what we originally thought (hey, it makes sense, right?): White Castle’s Jalapeño Cravioli are instead craveable, bite-sized fried ravioli-inspired pieces, stuffed with jalapeños and cream cheese, with a crispy cornmeal breading and served with green chili aioli. They’re sort of a cross between fried ravioli, crab rangoon, and mozzarella sticks, with a bit of extra spice thrown in. We’re not gonna lie: These could go either way.

When Can I Try Both Of These New Items?

RIGHT NOW! Sorry, let me say that again in more hushed tones: Right now. Both the Chicken Fajita Sliders and Jalapeño Cravioli are available as of today, April 6, in White Castle restaurants across the country. The slider will cost somewhere between $2.59 and $2.99, depending on where you’re getting it; the Cravioli can be purchased at $1.99 for a five-piece, or $4.99 for a 14-piece portion. You can also get both for $3.99 (albeit with only three pieces of Cravioli) if you’re a member of its free Craver Nation Rewards program.

If your interest has been piqued by these two, though, you’re gonna want to move quickly: These aren’t permanent additions to the menu. Both the slider and the bites are only available through June 14, and that’s while stocks last. Your passion for cream cheese and jalapeños must be sated before then.
