Prego Has 3 New Pasta Sauces and One of Them Sounds Like Nothing We’ve Had Before

I’m not sure about you, but I have pasta almost every night for dinner (carbohydrate lover over here.) I’ll be the first to admit that pasta gets boring without different sauces to spice it up, so I make it a point to try different ones when I can. Well, now that just got earlier because Prego added three new sauces to its roster. Hint: It’s not another tomato.

So, what are these three new Prego sauces?

The three new sauces you can try out now are Prego Lemon Alfredo, Prego Cajun Alfredo, and Margherita.

The Lemon Alfredo sauce is a twist on a classic alfredo sauce with notes of citrus. This has the potential to transform your rigatoni and spaghetti into restaurant-quality pasta right at home. Oh, and it’s creamy—count me in. 

Spice lovers will like the Cajun Alfredo, which has a kick of spice that’s balanced out by its creamy base. Add some grilled or blackened chicken to this pasta sauce for a real ’90s chain restaurant experience—at least that’s what I’d do. Oh, and according to Prego, the alfredo sauces are made with real cheese and fresh cream, and they aren’t made with artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup. 

Last but not least, if you’re a pizza lover, then you’ll want to try the new Prego Margherita sauce. How is this different from other tomato-based pasta sauces? According to Cambell’s (makers of Prego), this sauce has a “mozzarella-forward” flavor with “notes of bright tomato and aromatic basil.” Basically, it’ll make your pasta taste like a margherita pizza and that sounds pretty good to me. For some added brownie points (or maybe I’ll call them pepperoni points since we’re talking about pizza) the margherita sauce is gluten-free, vegetarian and delivers 40 percent of daily vegetables per serving.
