Tillamook Gives Its Caramel Swirl Ice Cream a Major Upgrade

You know what we like in a caramel-flavored ice cream? Caramel. And lots of it. Tillamook’s own Caramel Swirl has never done too badly on that front. Since it came out in 2021, a lot of customers have fallen for its combo of vanilla ice cream and a twist of caramel ribbon, and while we may not have given it a spin in our taste test of Tillamook flavors, we can tell ya that wasn’t for lack of love for its flavor profile.

Apparently, though, some people have decided that they want even more caramel for their buck—60% more, in fact. And that’s exactly what Tillamook has given them. It’s just updated its Caramel Swirl, and it sounds even better.

Caramel Everywhere!

Tillamook announced the upgrade to its flavor on Instagram, with one of its R&D scientists, Hunter, presenting the reel. “Everybody wants more caramel,” says Hunter, before stating that Tillamook has added in 60% more of it to its product, by replacing the vanilla ice cream that made up the bulk of the original flavor with a “luscious, slightly salty” caramel one.

She proceeds to saw a tub of Tillamook Caramel Swirl down the middle, to show you its guts and confirm that the original swirl is still in place (we’ve gotta say that we really like the drama of this bit), and takes a spoonful of the ice cream. Hunter pronounces: “Now that’s more caramel… It’s good stuff.” We know it’s a promotional video, but we do kinda buy it. Clearly it’s worked on us!

You’ve Gotta Keep Your Fans Happy

Tillamook customers responded in the affirmative in the comment section of this new Instagram video. “This sounds so good!!” read the top comment (at the time of writing this article, at least), with virtually everyone else chiming in to approve of Tillamook’s new move. Slightly weirdly, one of the accounts that said that they were into the new Caramel Swirl was Meta’s official business Instagram. Who knew that Mark Zuckerberg was a fan?

Tillamook’s new Caramel Swirl flavor is just the latest move for a company that’s been pretty busy in the last couple of months, as it gears up for a summer of selling its cool, creamy wares. A little while back, we reported on Tillamook’s new ice cream bars; we’ve recently had a chance to try them, and although we admire its commitment to finding ever-more diverse ways to bring its product to the masses, we do think they need slightly more work to really pop. Just last week, we also brought word of Tillamook’s new limited edition Spring flavor, Strawberries & Cream, which sounds like it absolutely slaps.
