White Castle’s Cheddar Bacon Sliders Are Finally Launching at More Stores

We love White Castle’s frozen sliders, and we make no secret of it. The venerable fast food chain has managed to nail its frozen output, and those little frosty burgers have come out on top in our taste tests – and the cheesy ones are usually the best there are.

So, when we discovered that White Castle’s Cheddar Bacon Sliders are gonna be available more widely, we were, of course, overjoyed. Next month, you can find them pretty much everywhere – and you might be able to find them more widely right now. Here’s what you need to know.

White Castle’s Cheddar Bacon Sliders

White Castle’s new slider was first introduced last year, but in a fairly muted capacity. It came out as part of a variety pack that was only available in Walmart, but in no time at all, fan response alerted the bigwigs over at White Castle that this was a sandwich that people wanted more of. It duly started selling it at CVS stores this January as a standalone item (as well as in its vending machine – yes, White Castle has a vending machine), but that wasn’t enough to sate everyone’s appetite. 

Now, White Castle’s taking the Cheddar Bacon Slider nationwide. As of right now, you’ll be able to find the sliders in Albertsons, Safeway, and other grocery stores – and from April onward, they’ll be available in Dollar General stores across the country. In a press release shared with us at Sporked, White Castle stated that in each slider, you can expect “100% beef and savory steam-grilled onions topped with a slice of cheddar-flavored cheese made with real bacon pieces, all served on White Castle’s signature fluffy bun.” And we like the sound of that, folks. We like it very much.

According to Sarah Paulson, director of retail marketing, innovation at White Castle, its new Cheddar Bacon Slider is a response to what people are actually craving. “White Castle is constantly keeping a pulse on the flavors consumers find most indulgent and satisfying, and bacon continues to top that list,” Paulson said in a statement. “It’s why White Castle has remained a trusted brand for craveable food for 105 years. With the Cheddar Bacon Cheese Slider, we’re delivering the smoky, savory flavor shoppers love, making it available in more stores and offering multiple pack sizes that make it even easier for Cravers to enjoy White Castle at home.” 

Generally speaking, frozen and microwave bacon can be a little hit and miss (it can go slightly stringy), but judging by how much fans have fallen for these sliders, White Castle might have just nailed it here. Tried it? We need to know your thoughts.
