There are a lot of Lindt Lindor Truffle flavors (we recently tasted and ranked 32 Lindor Truffle flavors, if you need proof). And now there’s even more! This year, Lindt released a new Lindor Truffle flavor for Valentine’s Day: Cherry Vanilla, which joins Dark Strawberry and Strawberries & Cream as a seasonal, V-Day offering.

Exclusive to Target, Cherry Vanilla truffles contain a creamy white chocolate center surrounded by a red-speckled cherry-white chocolate shell. It sure looks pretty. It sure sounds good—if just because it’s not strawberry flavored, which everything seems to be these days. But is this new Lindor Truffle flavor sweet enough for your sweetie? I popped a few of these balls in my mouth to find out.

New Lindor Flavor!

Lindt Lindor Cherry Vanilla

Pros: As noted above, this new truffle looks great. I love a speckled chocolate truffle—it’s artistic. And it’s fun to eat art. The texture is classic Lindor—you bite through a creamy shell and get to an even creamier interior. And the vanilla flavor has a good vanilla bean essence. End of compliments.
Cons: I tried a few of these truffles and the flavor varied. Some tasted like vanilla and vanilla alone, which was boring but not too bad. Others did taste like cherry, but very medicinal cherry that finished on a chemical note. This new Lindor Truffle flavor is simply not up to snuff with the other Lindor Truffle flavors. It’s clunky at best. Maybe you can get these for a frenemy as a passive aggressive Galentine’s Day gift.

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
