Takis are not for the faint of heart or stomach. In the world of chips, they have truly reached the pinnacle of spice—Hot Cheetos have nothing on the rich, lingering heat of Fuego Takis. But there’s more to Takis than just screaming spice. There’s a variety of classic and inventive Takis flavors ranging from Buckin’ Ranch to the visually bewildering Blue Heat, and the portfolio is only growing. This week Takis announced two exciting new Takis flavors: Chile Limón and Nacho Xplosion. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Takis.
What is the new Chile Limón flavor? Aren’t Takis already Chile and Limón flavored?
The new Takis Chile Limón flavor is for anyone who has ever munched on a Taki and thought, “I wish this was just a little bit less spicy.” Me, for example. Every time I eat Takis, I find myself questioning my understanding of spice, its purpose, its power, and most of all, its place in my life, which, after a bag of Fuego Takis, I feel is nowhere. According to the official release, the Chile Limón flavor has “mild heat, massive flavor, and intensity in every crunch.” My prediction is that they’ll have the zing of the citric acid that you get in Fuego Takis without the signature second wave of mind-numbing spice.
What’s the deal with the Nacho Xplosion flavor? Didn’t they already do Nacho Takis?
It’s true, Takis has already made a Nacho flavor. Intense Nacho Takis, the first non-spicy Takis offering, featured the signature rolled tortilla chips with bright orange nacho dust that Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart said, despite their name, need to be “a little more intense.” The new Nacho Xplosion flavor will hopefully make up for that misstep. They’re ranked as hot, one notch below the infamous Fuego on the Takis spice scale, and they are supposedly packed with jalapeño and nacho cheese flavor.
When can you try these new Takis flavors?
Chile Limón and Nacho Xplosion Takis are available nationwide right now in 3.2 oz individual packs and 9.9 oz sharing size.
