One of my favorite things to look for at Jungle Jim’s International Market is foreign versions of products we know and love. Case in point, I recently found two flavors of Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies all the way from China: Coffee and Grape. “Surely, that’s a translation error—these must be raisin cookies.” Nope! These are legitimately grape and chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes, the headline just writes itself.
Pros: The texture of this cookie is fantastic. The coffee flavor is strong and authentic. I’ve only had a few coffee-flavored cookies in my career as a cookie taste-tester, but this is definitely the most accurate version I’ve tried so far.
Cons: It could use some more sweetness. The bitterness of the coffee flavor brings this down to solidly-unsweet territory—strange stuff for a cookie.

Grape Chips Ahoy!
Chips Ahoy Grape Chocolate Chip Chewy Cookies Review
Pros: While these aren’t labeled as raisin cookies, the texture of the grape inclusions are definitely in raisin territory. I know raisins usually stay in the oatmeal cookie aisle in the States, but I think we should explore the idea of raisin chocolate chip cookies. As for the flavor, it’s way better than I was expecting. Adding a little fruitiness to a chewy chocolate chip cookie goes a long way.
Cons: Are these my favorite pre-packaged cookies of all time? No. (I miss you so much, Post Malone Oreos.) Are these exactly what I expected from the concept of a chewy chocolate chip cookie with grapes? 100%.
