We’re all familiar with the traditional U.S. version of a Snickers bar: a tasty milk-chocolate coating wrapped around a mix of nougat, caramel, and peanuts. And while there are some variants released in the states, like Snickers Almond or the Halloween-themed “Ghoulish Green” Snickers, there’s a wide range of different Snickers flavors from around the world. While they’re not regularly sold in the candy aisles here in America, you can find them online or, occasionally, in stores like World Market.

There may not be as many unique, international Snickers flavors as, for example, the 400 different varieties of Japanese Kit Kat bars, there are plenty worth trying. Here’s our top five “rare” Snickers flavors you should seek out.

Snickers Coffee (Australia)

This coffee-flavored bar is popular in Australia, but shouldn’t be confused with Snickers-flavored coffee, which is available in the states in bagged and K-cup form. As for the candy, tasters say it has a strong, but not too overpowering coffee flavor. It’s also not the only coffee-flavored Snickers bar they’ve made, as the U.S. got a limited-time Snickers Espresso bar in 2018, which supposedly had a much richer coffee taste than this one.

Snickers Kesar Pista (India)

This Snickers flavor blends saffron with pistachios, which is a popular flavor combination in Southeast Asian cuisine. The saffron gives it a slightly floral taste that blends well with the nutty pistachio flavor, which is only enhanced with extra almonds. It’s a flavor mix that unfortunately we don’t see much of in American mass-produced snacks, so it’s great to taste it in a chocolate bar. And it received a rave review from our very own Griffin Parker when he recently tasted it.

Snickers Mousse de Limão (Brazil)

One of Brazil’s favorite uses for limes is a simple and tasty lime mousse made from lime juice, lime zest, condensed milk and creme de leite, a type of sweetened, heavy cream. This Snickers flavor combines that tangy mix with the traditional Snickers mix of peanuts and chocolate. It’s a shame we don’t have this candy bar—or that delicious-sounding mousse—at every grocery store in the states.

Snickers Berry Whip (India)

Another Indian treat, this snickers bar replaces the classic nougat with a strawberry-infused nougat, giving it an extra burst of berry flavor. And it seems like they also whip up the nougat a bit more than a regular Snickers, giving it a slightly more airy and creamy texture.

Snickers Butterscotch (India)

Who knew it was hoarding all the best Snickers? This flavor blends a bunch of butterscotch flavoring into the bar to give it an extra hit of buttery, caramel goodness. Now, if it seems familiar, that might be because the U.S. has a similar flavor called Snickers Butterscotch Scoop, which we reviewed. However, based on the reviews, it looks like this flavor has a bit more butterscotch flavor than the scoop bar, which kinda lost the butterscotch taste under all of its caramel. (Don’t get us wrong, we love caramel. But we just prefer that our butterscotch candy taste like, well, butterscotch!)
