It’s been a big week in new Oreo flavors. We’re still riding the high of trying the new Oreos x Reese’s collaboration (a 10/10 snack, according to our taste tester), and now we already have to make room in the pantry for yet another cookie that tastes like another sweet treat altogether. Next up? Apple Pie à la Mode Oreos, not to be confused with the regular Apple Pie Oreos from back in 2017—this is a whole new cookie.
There’s just something about Oreos that feels so special to my little Gen Z brain. I don’t want to say they’re nostalgic and risk upsetting the millennials, but…they totally are. We recently tried the limited edition Blueberry Pie flavor, and I’ve got to say—Nabisco absolutely nailed it. The Sporked team loved them! So, naturally, we’re excited about another dessert-inspired release—will Oreo meet our high expectations? Let’s discuss.
What does “à la mode” mean, anyway?
No judgment if you’re not sure! I didn’t know for the longest time either. À la mode is just fancy chef-speak for something, usually pie, served with a scoop of ice cream. So this isn’t just an apple pie Oreo—it’s an indulgent apple pie with vanilla ice cream Oreo. A whole new twist on its predecessor.
So…what will these taste like?
Ideally? Like apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The filling is where the magic happens—it’s a blend of creamy vanilla and apple pie flavor, sandwiched between two golden vanilla cookies. Sure, it’s hard to capture the full experience of a warm slice of apple pie topped with cold, creamy vanilla ice cream in cookie form—but dunk one in a cold glass of milk, and you might get pretty close. The brand has even recommend pairing these with actual ice cream. Now that’s an intriguing idea.
Where can you find Apple Pie à la Mode Oreos?
This limited edition Oreo flavor is hitting grocery stores nationwide soon—but if you can’t wait, they’re already on Oreos’ website in two-packs. Just don’t sleep on it: After the Blueberry Pie Oreos buzz, we have a feeling these are going to fly off shelves.
